Job Title: Software Engineer III

Introduction:

The Software Engineer III (Innovation) role of the Innovation team will serve as the technical lead for the design and implementation of demos and proof of concepts of potential TGCS Solutions. This role will extend TGCS core capabilities based on the strategic direction of our company. The Software Engineer III will report to the Solution Architecture Innovation organization, which is responsible for driving proof of concepts and evaluating various technologies in combination with our retail and business partners.

Basic qualifications

• At least 3 years of experience developing microservices with Java (version 8 or higher required) and Spring Boot
• Strong API design experience including REST principles and REST API design standards and protocols
• Understanding of SOLID and other design principles. Ability to define system requirements and create associated designs for implementation
• Understanding of microservices architecture patterns pattern like Service Discovery/API Gateway/Domain Driven Design etc
• Experience with Relational and NoSQL Databases
• Experience in one of the cloud platforms: Azure, AWS, GCP
• Experience with a messaging system (IBM MQ, Rabbit MQ, Apache Kafka etc)
• Experience with Maven, Gradle, Jenkins CI/CD
• Good Linux Knowledge
• Experience in Docker ecosystem

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with big retail / ecommerce enterprise solutions.

Responsibilities:

Design, Develop and Lead technical implementation for new solutions around customer behavior analytics, computer vision, artificial intelligence, data platforms, and personalization for the retail sector based on unmet consumer needs and emerging commerce trends/technologies

Deliver new solutions by developing a value proposition, business, and solutions architecture and defining method of delivery (APIs,/SDKs/custom integrations).

Develop and support solutions moving from the prototypes to fully developed and deliverable solutions.

Work with the innovation team, partners, and various other departments within TGCS to focus on co-creating future solutions.

Connect the implementation of a solution for the internal and external teams to drive consumer research, workshops, solutions, prototyping, and testing as well as pilot implementations.

Perform other related duties as assigned.
