A direct hire Production Manager job in Lebanon, IN is currently available through Belcan at one of our key growing clients that serve in multiple industries including automotive, aerospace, agriculture, oil and gas, power generation, nuclear, tool & die, metal forming, military and defense, and food processing among others. Qualified candidates for this opening will have a BS in Engineering and 10+ years of Production Management experience.

Manage the production team and production processes to optimize performance toward the achievement of safety, quality, and production performance goals. Position activities include contract review, procurement, scheduling and coordinating internal and subcontracted processes with outside vendors, operations, supplier approval and control, inventory control, customer communication and following up on procurement items to ensure timely arrival.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Communicate, follow, and enforce safety policies and procedures, including proper utilization of personal protective equipment, and assuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
2. Create, revise, and maintain a production schedule for internal and external processes conferring with department supervisors frequently.
3. Responsible for the achievement of all quality-related goals, including minimizing rework, maintaining on - time * delivery and customer satisfaction, and adherence to the Quality Management System (QMS).
4. Responsible for efficient scheduling of manpower, machines, and maintenance to meet production demands. Identify and implement training and development needs for new and existing employees. Identify and resolve resource gaps to achieve production targets.
5. Manage inventory of all consumables utilized in each production department. Establish ordering thresholds based on current supply, incoming orders and lead times from suppliers to ensure Production remains adequate.
6. Provide excellent customer service by responding to customer calls and e-mails inquiring about order status.
7. Create report(s) to keep Production team up to speed on backlogs and scheduling issues and work with the shipping department to coordinate when deliveries need to be made.
8. Work with stakeholders to identify, implement, and sustain continuous improvement projects, including maintaining facility cleanliness through regular inspection, cleaning and 5S policies. Use appropriate problem-solving methods to lead the development of successful action plans that achieve permanent corrective actions, eliminate non-conformances, and drive lean manufacturing initiatives while maintaining safety.

Job Requirements:
- Bachelor"s degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Metallurgical Engineering is preferred). Experience in lieu of education will be considered.
Must have a minimum 10 years of experience working in a manufacturing/production setting.
- Proficient with MS Office suite, good knowledge of ERP/MRP systems and strong computer skills.
- Ability to reprioritize daily tasks upon the direction of management.
- Familiarity with Lean Initiatives such as, Kaizen, Value Analysis, Kanban, Error Proofing,
- Problem Solving, and Standardized Work, and Six Sigma activities is preferred.
