In this exciting role as a Senior Engineering Manager you will have responsibility for conducting and managing the sustaining quality engineering team for Enabling Technologies Imaging and Navigation Systems capital equipment, across design and development site locations of Littleton, MA and Louisville, CO. Due to service activities associated with capital equipment, this role is additionally responsible for the service quality function. Primary focus with be on providing support for commercialized products, inclusive of design changes, product performance analysis, service and manufacturing improvements, and proactive and corrective actions to improve our products and processes.

Enabling Technologies is part of Cranial Spinal Technologies (CST), developing life-restoring therapies and healthcare solutions that span the care continuum; integrating technologies and applying clinical and economic evidence to increase patient access, improve efficiency of procedures and deliver successful patient outcomes for cranial and spinal procedures.

A Day in the Life

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.


  • May develop, evaluate, implement and maintain technical quality assurance and control systems or reliability systems and standards pertaining to materials, techniques, or company products.
  • Oversees the investigation and evaluation of existing technologies.
  • Guides the conceptualization of new methodologies, materials, machines, processes or products.
  • Manages feasibility studies of the design to determine if capable of functioning as intended.
  • Selects, develops and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function.
  • Manages the sustaining quality engineering and service quality function.
  • Establish quality metrics to monitor and improve product improvements.
  • Conduct Failure Analysis on field returns to determine root cause and facilitate improvements through design, supplier, or internal manufacturing processes.
  • Conduct Failure Investigations that address potential product issues that may require corrective or preventive actions.
  • Collaborate with R&D on Failure Analysis on products in development to assist in root cause analysis and record information into a failure analysis database.
  • Provide Manufacturing Value Stream support to include process validations, NCR, and other shop floor compliance and product quality activities.

Must Have: Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Science or technical field with 7+ years of work experience in Engineering, Quality, and/or experience in a regulated industry with 5+ years of leadership experience OR Advanced Degree in Engineering, Science or technical field with 5+ years of work experience in Engineering, Quality, and/or experience in a regulated industry with 5+ years of leadership experience.

  • Design for Manufacturability Experience
  • Manufacturing Site Transfer Experience
  • Demonstrated capabilities in conducting Product Verification Testing, User Validation Testing, Manufacturing Process Controls, FMEA, and FTA
  • DRM/Black Belt/Six Sigma
  • Experience with reliability testing for electro-mechanical devices
  • Demonstrated capabilities in conducting Highly Accelerated Life Testing (HALT), Highly Accelerated Stress Testing (HASS), Weibull Plotting
  • Materials Testing
  • Design for Reliability
  • Experience in Reliability Statistics
  • Leadership across multiple locations
