Overview:

Performs direct patient care activities for all age groups to include assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation. Monitors and coordinates patient care activities with ancillary departments to optimize patient care and comfort. Functions within the scope of nursing preparation and consistent with the established guidelines of nursing practice, the goals of Mercy Hospital~Lebanon, the philosophy of the Sisters of Mercy, the Missouri Nurse Practice Act, the Code of Professional and Business Ethics and the Employee Code of Conduct. Job duties may include but are not limited: to making appropriate staffing assignments each shift, assisting with admissions and discharges within the unit, ensuring all necessary equipment is readily available and in proper working order. Performs duties as assigned and in a manner that is consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.

Qualifications:

• 
  Education: Graduate of a state approved school of nursing


• 
  Licensure: Current RN licensure with Missouri State Board of Nursing or current RN Missouri temporary work permit.


• 
  Certifications: BLS or must obtain within 90 days of hire.


• 
  Other: Demonstrates skills in human relations and communication, both written and verbal. Demonstrates clinical expertise in patient care delivery. Possesses the ability to assess data and assist personnel in providing appropriate level of care. Ability to demonstrate commitment to customer service/satisfaction.


• 
  Preferred Experience: Medical / Surgical experience


• 
  Preferred Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS.


• 
  Preferred Other: General office skills to include computer experience. Experience in computer charting.
