AJM Packaging Corporation is a leading manufacturer of branded and private label paper products including plates, bowls, cups, and bags. As we continue to grow and expand our operations, we are seeking a Quality Supervisor to join our team. This individual will be responsible for managing and maintaining the quality management system in a high volume manufacturing environment. Focus will be to ensure compliance to both customer and AJM standards and specifications.

Responsibilities


  • Assist Director of Quality Assurance in implementing and maintaining the quality management system.

  • Responsible for auditing the plant operating and quality systems and procedures to identify any gaps, and take corrective and preventative action to remedy any deficiencies.

  • Lead problem solving initiatives to help drive quality improvements. Perform root cause analysis for process related concerns as well as preform employee training on the analysis results to build employee quality awareness.

  • Manage the any plant customer sample request process ensure both excellent quality in terms of specification compliance, and on time delivery.

  • Interface with Engineering, Purchasing and Operations to ensure transfers to Production of new products are in accordance with approved data.

  • Support the manufacturing team to ensure that products and processes comply with the relevant requirements of the quality management system.

  • Analyze failures; work with the Director of Quality and / or Quality Engineer to develop corrective and preventive action to respond to customer complaints.

  • Work with the Director of Quality and / or Quality engineer to update and maintain company quality documentation, such as quality manuals, quality procedures, etc.

  • Ensure timely resolution of supplier failures, corrective actions and preventive actions.

  • Conduct audits to ensure compliance to standards, participate in customer or 3rd party audit preparation and provide support during outside audits, including creating audits finding reports and assisting in determining proper corrective and preventive actions.

  • This individual will be tasked with auditing, and training the Manufacturing team on quality standards, and helping to drive product and packaging quality improvements.

  • This position will also be responsible for GMP compliance, QOS documentation, SOP management, work instructions, product testing, and bench marking to ensure AJM products look and perform equal to or better than the brands they compete against.

  • Must be hands-on, willing to work on the shop floor, and have excellent problem solving and communication skills.


Qualifications


  • Bachelor of Science in Operations Mgmt. or Engineering is preferred.

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business forms, reports and other similar documents. Ability to respond to inquiries from various levels of Company personnel. Ability to clearly and effectively present information to all levels of Company employees.

  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, proportions, discounts, area and volume, to practical situations and perform any necessary calculations.

  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions in order to resolve problems. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions and deal with several abstract and concrete variables to develop effective and efficient operating procedures and processes.




Salary:

$65,000.00
