Position Description:
Founded by the CEO along with a few of his neighbors as a grassroots effort in 1990, Detroit Regional Dollars for Scholars (DRDFS) works out of the global headquarters of Plastipak Packaging in Plymouth, Michigan. With Plastipak's support, DRDFS has been able to grow to 14 high school partners, serving over 350 students and awarding over $550,000 in scholarships each year.
Detroit Regional Dollars for Scholars is currently seeking a detail-oriented, goal driven and self-motivated Communications and Development Director. The Communications and Development Director will work directly with the Executive Director and will be responsible for implementing, coordinating and executing the fundraising and communication operations of the organization. The ideal candidate is highly self-motivated, professional, experienced in fundraising and communications and is capable of managing their workload in fast-paced non-profit environment. In this role, the Communications and Development Director will have the opportunity to further our mission of helping local students prepare for life after high school by growing our network of supporters through both fundraising and communications efforts with individuals and businesses across the region.
