These are entry-level assembly positions that will be located at the new Arthrex manufacturing facility in Sandy Springs, SC. While prior experience with the assembly of small parts and/or medical device manufacturing would be beneficial, no prior manufacturing experience is required. As part of the interview process, candidates may be asked to participate in a pre-hire training. This role will be on our night shift (7:30pm-6am Monday-Thursday and voluntary overtime on Friday.)

 

Main Objective:


To produce quality medical instruments in accordance with Arthrex Manufacturing Inc. procedures in a safe and effective manner to meet and exceed the customer’s needs. To assemble label and package medical devices.

 

This position is eligible for a sign-on bonus. If you are hired after May 17th, 2021, you will be eligible for a $750.00 sign-on bonus (minus appropriate tax withholdings) paid after you complete your first 90 days and are an employee in good standing.         

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 



  • Required to work in a clean room environment; cannot wear makeup, hair sprays, hair gels, acrylic or painted finger nails, or rings.

  • Support current processes related to assembly, labeling, and packaging.

  • Operate suture attaching process to crimp needles to nitinol wire and braided suture.

  • Perform dimensional and other quality checks on products when necessary.

  • Ability to follow work instructions, drawings, and packaging instructions.

  • Perform manual and fixture assisted device assembly and packaging on medical devices, components, kits, convenience packs, and clean room specific devices.

  • Perform pouch and blister loading, sealing, and labeling.

  • Load and assist unit devices into unit packaging automated equipment.

  • Demonstrate flexibility and ability to train in outside departments such as boxing.


  • Responsible for proper storage, control, and identification of tooling and fixtures. 

  • Escalate assembly issues to the production coordinator

  • Perform terminal cleaning and daily housekeeping utilizing various disinfecting agents.

Education and Experience:


  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.

  • Manufacturing experience related to technical and mechanical aspect of manufacturing including operation of packaging equipment a plus.

 

Knowledge and skill Requirements /Specialized courses and/or training.


  • Self-motivated and able to work independently.


  • Able to determine material and tools required to perform operations

  • Can perform different task/operations required to manufacture products.

  • Creative and is able to suggest process improvements and problem solve.

  • Able to use inspection tools, and use measuring tools to ensure quality.

  • Basic computer skills including Microsoft outlook.

 

Machine Tooling and Equipment Skills:

The technology and frequency of the technology required to perform this job is as follows, occasional operation of some automated equipment, winding, attaching needle machines, label printing, weighing scales, label dispenser machine, manual sealers, cleaning machines, and general test equipment.

 

Reasoning Ability:

Able to define problems, collect data, establish facts, problem solve, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret and extensive variety of technical instructions in math, and form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

 

Mathematical Skills:

Ability to comprehend and apply mathematical skills to the degree to perform the job.

 

Language and Communicating Skills:

Ability to comprehend and apply language skills to the degree required to perform the job based on requirement. Ability to communicate ideas and issues to others. Ability to write and record data and information as required by procedures.
