Job Description:

Marine Electrical Products, (MEP) is a leading manufacturer of products of original equipment for the boat building industry, has an outstanding opportunity for a highly motivated and dynamic Operations Manager to lead their production plants in thermoforming, fiberglass, and wiring.

MEP manufactures a variety of products from custom wire harnesses to thermoforming, specializing in short to medium run orders that require complex assembly and fabrications. Our flexible manufacturing methods allow us to retool for varying jobs quickly and efficiently for different industries including boat builders, off-road vehicles, point-of-purchase displays and a host of other businesses.
Under the direction of the Business Unit Director, the Operations Manager leads the efforts of the operating functions of MEP. This Leader is responsible for direct components of the Organizational Strategic Agenda (OSA) and manages specific objectives linked directly to the OSA and acts as a key leader on the Management Team.

Operations

Expedites production schedule and directs production activities to meet sales objectives at maximum efficiency and minimum cost
Ensures order fulfillment at CRD (Customer Request Date- on time delivery) objective level
Plans and coordinates work, trains and motivates team members, monitors and evaluates performance of team; counsels, documents actions and disciplines as appropriate.
Ensures communication, training and running operations is in compliance with local, state and federal laws and EHS standards
Reviews production costs and product quality, and modifies production and inventory control programs to maintain and enhance profitable operation of plant
Supports Continues Improvement by identifying and addressing any opportunities to reduce cost, improve product/process and/or improve overall operations
Supports ERP integration into daily business functions of operations
Assumes ultimate responsibility for the quality of products produced and shipped to Customers
Management and leadership of production standards, metrics and efficiencies
Responsible for hiring, staffing and retaining an engaged workforce
