The Impact You’ll Make in this Role
The person hired for the position of Converting Process Engineer will be responsible for driving productivity improvements on multiple work center(s). This will require creative thinking, innovative problem-solving, collecting, reporting and analyzing data and proposing, organizing and leading projects to drive improvement.

As a Process Engineer, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:

• Develop and implement improvements related to safety, quality, service, and cost (productivity)


• Develop and implement cross-functional projects, plans, and programs in support of business and strategic plans, new process start-ups, new process technology integration, aggressive cost reduction, and supply chain improvement using Lean and Six Sigma tools


• Identify improvement opportunities requiring capital expenditure; establish justification and manage projects to completion


• Perform root cause analysis and apply systematic problem-solving skills


• Proactively communicate project direction and status to appropriate personnel


• Effectively train manufacturing personnel on safe and productive equipment use


• Develop process standards and other documentation supporting the operation


• Actively participate in relevant corporate programs/initiatives, comply with professional and quality standards, comply with corporate policies and procedures, and act in a manner consistent with 3M’s values and ethical standards

Your Skills and Expertise 
To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in a science or engineering discipline (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

• Minimum two (2) years experience in a manufacturing environment in a private, public, government or military environment
  


• Experience in a Manufacturing Engineer role (specifically with process equipment).


• Experience with Lean Six Sigma continuous improvement projects


• Experience leading multi-functional teams through complex projects from planning to completion


• Experience supporting new product development and commercialization


• Experience developing and managing capital budgets and project completion within time and cost projections


• Strong interpersonal, organizational and communication skills


• Strong data analysis skills including Excel, Minitab, and SQL querying experience


• Experience presenting ideas in PowerPoint.


• Knowledge of robots, camera/scanner vision systems, and PLC programming


• Results oriented with strong process and execution skills


• Self-motivated, team player

Travel: May include up to 25% domestic/international
