Job Description

The Private Label department creates store branded items for retail customers based on their specifications. The Manager will help to execute all elements of the business plan to assist in the achievement of sales targets for assigned accounts. This includes managing and executing account initiatives such as pricing development, new product launch facilitation and sales forecasting for store branded business. This role works in close collaboration with the sales team to be the liaison between sales/account requests and various internal cross functional teams.

Additional responsibilities include:


  • Develop pricing strategies and analysis in response to bids, cost of goods increases or decreases, margin pressure, demand increases or decreases, etc.

  • Execute Business Development initiatives for assigned private label account(s) including account assortment analysis, new item. recommendations, rationalizations, RFP response, and product development.

  • Execute initiatives related to packaging, operations and sales support.

  • Facilitate creative and marketing support requests.

  • Work closely with Category Management and Sales to identify and establish programs designed to deepen consumer understanding, new item recommendations, opportunities and innovation planning.

  • Manage account relationships and understand specific account requirements; field all needs and requests.

  • Coordinate label updates including claims, copy and nutrition regulations as well as redesigns, and updating 3rd party websites.

  • Gather required quality/scientific documentation and regulatory information for accounts.

  • New item setup and maintenance; as well as sample requests.

  • Collaborate with cross functional teams including Sales, legal, Regulatory, Quality Assurance, InventoryManagement, Demand Planning, Marketing, Finance, Category Management and Product Development, Customer and Channel Development.

  • Develop and manage timelines, decision points and communication to stakeholders keeping projects on track and on target.

  • Liaise with inventory management and/or QA to communicate with customers relevant information regarding products and/or shipments.

  • Manage multiple projects/accounts concurrently.

  • Prepare business update presentations for both management and sales meetings.





Job Requirements



  • 5+ years of related experience, preferably within the consumer products industry, in marketing, project management, inventory management and/or new product development

  • Strong business and financial acumen; P&L experience helpful

  • Understanding of full product development lifecycle

  • Experience in nutritional supplements, wellness or a highly regulated industry is a plus

  • Bachelor's degree required

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel & PowerPoint

  • Strong analytical ability

  • Solid written, verbal and presentation skills; effective communicator

  • Strategic/creative thinker and team player

  • Some travel may be required.
