Job Description Summary

Lamb Weston is searching for the right candidate to fill a Director of IT supporting the Supply Chain business function. This role helps to form, plan, and execute collaboratively built digital strategies between IT and Supply Chain. This role is important to the success of Lamb Weston's IT organization by fostering relationships and driving an IT business portfolio aligned to strategic objectives and value.


The Supply Chain IT Leader is expected to drive value by partnering and establishing relationships between IT and Supply Chain to gain a deep understanding of business operations and success criteria and use this deep understanding to educate/empower the IT organization to meet and predict future business digital technology needs. The Supply Chain IT Leader will be the voice of the business into IT. The individual will be accountable for managing the business unit's IT budget, roadmap, and demand prioritization.


This individual must be able to interface with business leadership at all levels within the organization on a regular basis and drive strategic planning discussions around transforming business capabilities through digital strategies. This role will require learning and navigating IT processes for employing IT resources supporting the portfolio lifecycle to execute those business projects and technology roadmaps. The ideal candidate has the business acumen and IT technology roadmap understanding to propose innovative and value driving use cases within their assigned business units.



Job Description



  • Ability to drive strategic thinking, business acumen, and communication across a matrix organization.

  • Orchestrate a variety of stakeholders to achieve a shared vision of technology and digital goals and priorities.

  • Build roadmaps based on business outcomes to help visualize and advise how IT will meet or exceed business strategies through the development of KPIs and calculating ROI's with the business.

  • Propose initiatives to improve business performance leveraging technology.

  • Maintain a technology life cycle perspective, and work to balance short-term achievements with long-term goals (such as minimizing technical debt while maximizing resiliency).

  • Strategize and partner with business units for fiscal year planning and prioritization.

  • Act as the primary source of escalation for business related concerns involving Information Technology.

  • Enhance the perception of IT by educating the business on IT capabilities and digital strategies.

  • Act as the IT liaison to build a better understanding of IT resourcing and planning to enable smoother execution of business needs.

  • Propose business projects to leadership by developing strategic business cases.

  • Provide regular portfolio reporting to business stakeholders to ensure business needs are met and communicated.

  • Take ownership on driving progress in the portfolio by working closely with the IT delivery teams to convey the business vision, continuously verifying that the key milestones fulfill that vision (as measured by customer value and business outcomes) and help the team ensure it is building the right solution.

  • Regularly communicate and educate business leaders on technology roadmap initiatives and projects or activities related to that business.

  • Be an integral part of the business leadership team by developing strong professional relationships.

  • Works closely with IT Architecture, IT PMO, Development and Delivery, Security and OCM teams to strategize on execution of business roadmaps.

  • Seek opportunities to align or potentially improve business and IT processes, structures, and procedures.

  • Have a deep level of understanding in how your assigned business unit(s) operate to propose value added IT roadmap solutions.

  • Understand and articulate to IT leaders and team members, key KPI's and metrics which drive strategy and decision making within your assigned business unit(s).

  • Be solution focused vs. technology focused. Ensure that the organization is prepared to deliver and support the entire business capability (including all of its human, organizational, process and physical aspects) from ideation to delivery.

  • Demonstrable 10+ years of experience engaging executives and other stakeholders to support important business decisions.

  • Reconciles perspectives on digital strategy and priorities into a consensus that all stakeholders can support.

  • Is naturally curious about, and fluent in, business processes and problems, and is obsessed with solving those problems effectively for the betterment of assigned business unit(s) and the IT organization.

  • Proven history of willingness to jump in and solve problems without the need of delegation.



Position Qualifications:


  • Requires a bachelor's degree, or equivalent education and experience.

  • 10+ years of experience in diverse roles and increasing responsibilities in Supply Chain

  • 10+ years of experience in CPG and/or Food and Beverage industry

  • 5+ years in project management, process improvement, or related experience.

  • Sufficient technology focus to equip the candidate to communicate effectively with IT delivery teams

  • Some travel may be required
