Main Objective:

Provides assistance in preparing lab related materials for analysis and testing in accordance with Quality Systems Requirements. Assists in maintaining the Arthrex Biological Safety Laboratory.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Create reagents and materials necessary for Laboratory tests


• Provide the Biological Safety team with support on projects and research


• Perform tests and assays as required per established procedures


• Collection and testing of Environmental Monitoring Samples.


• Laboratory maintenance and cleaning


• Assist in method and equipment validations


• Provide contributors to the lab with study information and updates.


• Maintain sample receipt and log in database


• Assist in maintaining the Biological Safety Laboratory systems and documentation.


• Assist in collecting, maintaining, and interpreting pertinent regulatory information and test data.

Education and Experience:

• Associate’s degree required in one of the following fields: Biology, Microbiology, Chemistry

 

Knowledge and Skill Requirements/Specialized Courses and/or Training:

• Knowledge of ISO and FDA QSR requirements is preferred.


• Knowledgeable of cGMP, ISO, and USP guidelines for testing of medical devices is desirable.


• Knowledge of microbial identification & Characterization, Bioburden, LAL, Cytotoxicty techniques preferred, and/or working knowledge of analytical chemistry techniques, (i.e. GC, GC-MS, LC-MS, FTIR, etc.) desirable


• Experience working and operating Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) preferred.

 

Machine, Tools, and/or Equipment Skills:

Proficiency in the use of Personal Computers and computer programs, particularly the Microsoft Office Suite; Excel, Word, PowerPoint (or equivalents if changed by the Company).  Perkin Elmer instrument software experience/knowledge is highly desirable.
