Asset Team Leader – Tissue Machine 1

Scope:

The incumbent reports to the Jenks Product System Leader. The position is responsible for the day to day leadership and management of a 80,000 MT tissue machine,  and assigned operating and maintenance teams for the purpose of delivering safety, quality, productivity, cost and talent building objectives utilizing Lean thinking and methods to engage team members in meeting their customers’ needs. Advises manufacturing operations personnel with regards to administrative procedures, technical problems, work priorities, and capability development. Significant time is spent ''on the floor'' with the incumbent in continuous contact with team members regarding people, product and process issues and continuous improvement opportunities.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:


  • Provide an environment in which environmental, health and safety stewardships are known values and leadership responsibilities for environmental waste streams, loss control and prevention are embraced. Develop and maintain safety and environmental systems in accordance with Kimberly-Clark’s EHS protocols to ensure achievement of environmental, health and safety objectives in full compliance with corporate policies and governmental safety and health regulations.


  • Ensure the safe and efficient operation of the teams and the equipment in order to attain safety, quality, cost, and delivery objectives.


  • Provide leadership to ensure the organization attracts, develops, and retains the best people and fosters an environment which motivates a diverse team to fully use its capabilities in achieving desired business results.


  • Become proficient in Lean thinking and methods in order to lead Lean capability building activities to build team members’ skills/talent and improve results within the facility.


  • Evaluate recommendations from engineering sources for product or process innovations to ensure changes are compatible with operating goals.


  • Develop and ensure the implementation of special plant and corporate projects to safely meet cost management objectives, increase company profitability and meet changing production requirements.


  • Ensure the effective application of internal control systems and procedures applicable to the functional areas of responsibility by providing management direction and support to the implementation, maintenance and audit of Corporate, Company and Plant internal control policies, instructions, and procedures.


  • Communicate fully with supervisors, subordinates and others who have need to know. Be informative without being obtrusive or vexatious. Communicate in a way that is timely, complete, concise; and candid.


  • This position reports to the Product System Leader.


Basic Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 8 years’ experience in a high-speed industrial manufacturing environment.

  • Preferred Qualifications:


  • 10+ years’ experience in a high-speed industrial manufacturing environment preferred.


  • 10+ years’ experience with high speed converting processes and equipment in a plant support role.


Preferred Qualifications:


  • 5+ years in a leadership/supervisory position


  • Experience in tissue manufacturing and/or tissue converting


  • Experience with LEAN Manufacturing and problem solving
