Position Summary: work in collaboration with the Administrative Director of Surgical Services to coordinate, direct, organize and evaluate patient care, resources, and unit management on a 24-hour basis for surgical services. Areas of oversight include but not limited to; surgery, PAT, PACU, same day surgery, infusion therapy, endoscopy, pain management, and the ambulatory surgery center.

The Director Manages unit resources to maximize quality patient care in accordance with State and Federal regulations and safety guidelines, universal precautions practices, and hospital policies. Works in collaboration with the Administrative Director of Surgical Services to meet operating and financial goals for all areas of surgical services. Ensures compliance with all regulatory requirements (DOH, OSHA, TJC, HIPAA, CMS etc.) Excellent interpersonal and communications skills. Maintains open communication with Physicians, staff and leadership Communicates effectively with team members regarding health system initiatives as well as departmental activities to ensure staff inclusion and engagement. Analyzes processes and workflow, monitors team member productivity, and develops and implements opportunities for improvement.
