Position Summary:


Carestream Health Colorado Division is seeking a Chemical (Product) Engineer. This position, within the Product Staff group, supports the manufacturing of one or more groups of products sold by Carestream Health Inc. into markets around the world.

The person in this position will provide product specific technical and engineering support for products manufactured at Colorado Sensitizing facility. There is an immediate need for a Product Engineer who will, for an assigned group of products, be responsible for identifying and coordinating product quality improvement and product cost reduction projects, assessing impact and coordinating response to material quality issues and source of supply changes, addressing intermediate material and product quality issues, and coordinating product feature enhancements and new products introductions into the site. Involvement with customer and other site and company-wide initiatives outside of the area of responsibility is also expected.

* Ensures product quality and determines product disposition

* Takes product development projects and translates to product that can be manufactured

* Understands product formulation and impact on product

* Trouble shooting day to day issues and effect on product

* Monitor product performance through the life of the product

* Provide day-to-day support to manufacturing for product specific issues

* Monitor product performance to ensure adherence to product specification

* Identify opportunities and coordinate projects to improve product quality, reduce product cost, and to drive towards a reliable and lean manufacturing flow

* Assess impact and coordinate response to material quality issues and material source of supply issues

* Address intermediate material and product quality issues

* Coordinate product feature enhancements and introduction of new products into the site. Work with Product Line Managers, Product Development and various manufacturing resources to minimize cost, maximize manufacturability, and minimize introduction time, while following formal change procedures

Required Skills & Education:


*Must have 5-10 years' experience with raw materials, emulsion, dispersions and coating of product (or equivalent combination of education and experience).

* Working knowledge of chemistry, chemical processes, and associated control systems, to facility appropriate identification of problem solutions and improvement ideas

* Engineering Degree, ideally in chemistry

* Strong analytical and methodical approach to solving problems

* Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel

* Able to travel and provide technical support to locations in other worldwide locations


Desired Skills:


* Familiarity with photographic film manufacturing technology

* Demonstrated knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and 6-Sigma principles

Carestream Colorado EPT Rules

Carestream, in compliance with Colorado EPT Rules isoffering a very competitive salary of $70-90,000 depending on experienceas well as an Annual Incentive Plan. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and this range is only applicable for jobs to be performed in Colorado. This range and benefits may be modified in the future.
