Overview

CAES is hiring an entry level Mechanical Engineer for our technologically advanced electronics company to work on Space related electro-mechanical products. The incumbent will work on the mechanical design and documentation of space related parts and assemblies. An important part of this job will be the creation of models, drawings, spreadsheets to support Engineering. Daily tasks wil- include the design of Test fixtures to support testing on space related electro-mechanical assemblies.


Responsibilities


  • Create all aspects of development, models, drawings, and spreadsheets supporting engineering from concept through sustaining activities.

  • Process ECO's - revise drawings per redlines and support ECO process.

  • Collaborate with all levels of engineering in the development of new ideas; reviews current documentation and develop Engineering change Orders (ECO) as required.

  • Ensure compliance to design contract specification and schedule.

  • Design fixtures and shop aides as required.

  • Collaborate in team meetings and LEAN activities.

  • Participate in safety training and comply with safety policies and practices.

  • Interact with outside vendors and companies as necessary based on project scope; makes presentations to communicate engineering findings.


Qualifications

MINIMUM:


  • Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics.

  • This position requires access to technology, materials, software or hardware that is controlled by US export laws. In order to be eligible for this position, you must be a "US Person" under US export laws (or eligible for approval under a U.S. Government export license).

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance, if required.

PREFERRED:


  • 1 + years of experience in a Mechanical Engineer, Design Drafting position.

  • Communication skills: ability to receive messages by telephone, in person, electronically and in writing; ask questions and rephrase statements to clarify meaning; ability to read, interpret and comprehend complex written technical publications; communicate across organizational levels; ability to communicate with quality, integrity and respect in a way that inspires others and encourages innovation and possibilities.

  • CAD experience - CREO/WINDCHILL.

  • Computer skills: working in a networked environment using a Windows and/or Windows like interface using Power Point, Excel and Word software programs at an advance level.

  • Math & Analytical skills: advanced mathematical skills, including statistical analysis; review and compare data to identify inconsistencies and determine priorities; ability to collect, analyze and summarize information to a general understanding; ability to think abstractly and separate complex ideas into simple elements.

  • Time Management and Organizational skills: flexibility and adaptability to changing priorities and assignments; ability to maintain confidentiality.

  • Excellence Behaviors: remain engaged, proactive and positive even in tough circumstances; own assignments and be fully accountable for their success; align actions, behaviors and conversations to what matters most; bring out the best in others and recognize the value in every person's contributions; ability to work independently and as a team member.
