Your Responsibilities

John Deere is currently hiring a Senior Software Test Infrastructure Engineerfor the Intelligent Solutions Group (ISG) located in Waterloo, IA.

As a Senior Infrastructure Test Engineer at ISG,you will join our team in building a world class simulation infrastructure to develop and test our embedded software for various platforms.We are looking for someone with expertise in test infrastructure development. This position will:


  • Support modeling and simulation activities for various Crop Care projects.
  • Work with design teams to determine appropriate simulations to validate system, subsystem, and feature requirements.
  • Support the design team to develop a virtual verification environment which emulates physical systems interfacing with embedded software.
  • Handle support requests from software developers, verification champions, and test automation engineers using the test environment.
  • Drive efficiency through abstraction, automation, and reuse of simulation components.
  • Identify and document new processes and best practices to drive commonality and reuse.

What Skills You Need


  • MATLAB/Simulink simulation and model-based software skills
  • Experience with C, C#, Python, or equivalent
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills with the ability to lead conversations and collaboration
  • Strong, demonstrated problem solving skills
  • Ability to work in a self-directed mode
  • Experience with creating automated, deployable solutions (Continuous Integration)
  • Ability to technically mentor and train other team members

What Makes You Stand Out


  • Experience with controls development
  • Experience with mechanical/electrical/hydraulic systems
  • Ability to interpret and create or maintain electrical schematics
  • Experience implementing simulation infrastructure on various hardware platforms, including Amazon (AWS), local clusters, dedicated desktops, or HIL units
  • Product design experience in the Agriculture, Construction, Forestry, and/or Off-road equipment industries
  • Experience with J1939 CAN protocol
  • Sense of ownership, curiosity, and ability to function in a fast-paced, collaborative team environment that is distributed across various time zones and locations
  • Advanced degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Controls Engineering or equivalent

Education

Ideally, you will have:


  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer or Electrical Engineering, or equivalent degree in a related technology field or discipline.
