Position Summary: The Technician in the Finishing Department is responsible for performing all tasks involved in finishing the company's composite parts. The position follows standard work methods and practices safe work habits to ensure production is as efficient and safe as possible.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Performs proper sanding and polishing techniques.
Performs surface preparation, painting, finishing, and corrosion control techniques.
Verifies that work is performed in accordance with the operations policy and procedures
Assures that all work records and statements of work are performed in accordance with the specifications, and that all interim quality inspections are performed.
Properly record the work performed on the appropriate maintenance record (traveler)
Daily verification that all product is properly identified and maintained
Assures that all work areas are clean, orderly, and customer owned material requirements have been followed at the end of the shift
Responsible for maintaining equipment and tools in a serviceable and working condition.
Be aware of FOD & Tool control at all times
Continuously demonstrate 5S Application
Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities)
High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred
Must be able to verbally communicate, read and comprehend written and verbal instructions in English.
Ability to quickly adapt to change
Knowledge of and ability to apply basic mathematical skills to the work environment (such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division using whole numbers)
Must be familiar with blueprints and other similar drawings and documents
Capable of doing simple mathematical calculations
Familiar with a variety of machinist hand tools and measuring instruments.
Will require respirator certification.
Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers and the management team.
Must be able to work in a loud environment; work extended hours as required; and be able to lift assemblies weighing up to 50 lbs.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The employee may have to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds at times. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee must regularly possess manual dexterity to put parts or pieces together quickly and accurately. The employee is frequently exposed to high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; outside weather conditions; extreme heat and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
