We have a job opening and exciting opportunity for a full-time Supervisor, Operations in our Shelbyville, IN location. The primary role of a Supervisor, Operations is to provide direct leadership for the Shipping department, overseeing order processing and departmental staff while ensuring accurate and timely order fulfillment for a number of shipping accounts.

Essential Functions:

The Supervisor will be responsible for overall management of the Shipping department in the Shelbyville facility. The individual will be responsible for possessing full understanding of the goals and objectives of the relationship between Concordance and our customer base, implementing strategies to support those goals and objectives.


  • Play a key role in interviewing and hiring quality staff members; overseeing a strong training regimen for new staff; continuously developing new and experienced workers; managing staff; and completing performance management reviews on assigned employees twice a year.

  • In addition to supervising staff, this position is also responsible for providing leadership by example while assisting with daily tasks.

  • Must be able to learn and perform all shipping job tasks including the VAI computer system, voice pick, running of route sheets, finding lost product, putting replenishment in transit, and making sure transfers are completed in a timely manner.

  • Ensures that departments keep a clean and orderly work environment. Assigns general custodial tasks and establishes cleaning schedule for areas. Supports a healthy and safe work environment by communicating unsafe conditions immediately.

  • Maintains warehouse equipment to ensure safety of employees; addresses any mechanical issues that are reported.

  • Adheres to company and departmental policies and procedures.

  • Works together with fellow associates as a team to promote the goals, profitability, and common good of the company; must work in a safe, efficient, and respectful manner with other personnel.

  • Travel required up to 5% of time.

  • Other duties as assigned.

What You will Need to be Successful:


  • High school diploma, equivalent or higher.

  • Minimum of three years of experience in warehouse operations or distribution or related field.

  • Previous supervising and leading a team is desired.

  • Previously displayed leadership characteristics such as working well with others, sharing expertise with fellow peers, functioning with tact and diplomacy, and presenting an overall positive attitude.

  • Excellent problem solving, interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills are essential.

  • Must be able to lift/pull/carry at least 70 pounds; must be willing/able to stand and walk for entire shift, often over 8 hours. With or without accommodation.

  • Previous experience supervising, training, developing and providing direction to staff a plus.

  • Thorough knowledge of Voice Pick and VAI systems (or similar warehouse management or operating system) is preferred.

  • Able to work with minimal supervision.

  • Previously displayed leadership characteristics such as working well with others, sharing expertise with fellow peers, functioning with tact and diplomacy, and presenting an overall positive attitude.

  • Must be able to lift/pull/carry at least 70 pounds; must be willing/able to stand and walk for entire shift, often over 8 hours. With or without accommodation.

  • Strong customer service, problem solving, time management, and organizational skills.

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to effectively build relationships are essential.

  • Self-starter with a positive attitude.

  • Proficient math skills.

  • Ability to work independently and effectively as a member of a team.

  • Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check.
