Marketing Manager, Kohler Signature Stores & Experience Centers

Kohler's Consumer Channels is excited to continue its growth and expansion to the Marketing Team, specifically looking for a Marketing Manager to oversee all marketing related activities for its Kohler Signature Stores and Kohler Experience Centers. Kohler Consumer Channels is an independent business unit and strategic driver for the continued growth of Kohler Company. The Consumer Channels division consists of direct-to-consumer businesses that include, Kohler Signature Stores and Kohler Experience Centers, and Dealer-Direct (Kohler Walk-In Bath and Kohler Showers). Additional teams within the division include Customer Service, Digital Experience & Capabilities, Ecommerce Operations, Consumer Marketing and Merchandising. Each of these teams will serve as partners to this role.

Under the direction of the Director-Marketing, Consumer, the Marketing Manager - KSS & KEC is responsible for the leadership, planning and implementation of marketing programs and activities related to Kohler Stores and Kohler Experience Centers. This role will oversee all marketing activities, which include brand management, marketing assets and program governance, market research and creative development.  This position will drive the marketing strategy, with great consideration for positioning, messaging, defining, and implementing go-to-market plans.  Additionally, this role may take on activities such as producing sales enablement resources, and identifying and researching ongoing market opportunities specifically for the Kohler Stores & Experience Centers.  The efforts of this position will significantly contribute to meeting or exceeding established Kohler Co. volume, profitability, and customer service objectives.  This role will be integral in creating a customer-first mentality and will interact regularly with consumer leadership, store and ecommerce leadership, brand and category marketing partners, and other representatives as needed.

Specific Responsibilities

Contribute to the growth and profitability of the business by developing long-term marketing strategies and short-term category specific marketing plans for Kohler Signature Stores & Kohler Experience Centers.

  • Take business responsibility for developing, planning, forecasting, implementing and communicating marketing programs and promotions. These activities may includes special promotions, rebate efforts, and ongoing support programs for product categories and market segments. Partner with Corporate and other cross-functional teams to create an all-encompassing marketing strategy inclusive of Stores. 

  • Identify and execute on new opportunities to expand marketing activities, including but not limited to, promotions, in-store events and experiences, local artisan partnerships, localized social media and relevant digital initiatives.

  • Support new store openings in a robust growth period, creating a tiered opening strategy that is relevant and authentic to market 

  • Support product launches, and special events with dedicated marketing plans.

  • Execute on both outbound and inbound marketing initiatives, including special marketing requests from store-specific partners.

  • Partner to drive channel-wide program marketing support as relevant to stores by identifying and building programs for specific initiatives such as loyalty, trade and influencer programs.

  • Increase market share in the Kohler Signature Stores & Kohler Experience Centers through merchandising, messaging, and marketing strategies to meet end customer's needs, demands, and desires. Fosters the growth and positioning of Kohler and other Kohler brands in these key initiatives.

  • Develop a deep understanding of the brand and product to develop strategies that meet both financial and brand-building goals.

  • Understand trends, potential demand, and competition; make recommendations to develop and introduce new programs that increase sales.

  • Provide budget analysis for the Kohler Signatures Stores & Kohler Experience Centers. Monitor the success, impact, and contribution of all programs, and communicate this information to leadership on a timely basis.

  • Develops strategies addressed at the Kohler Stores & Experience Centers to increase penetration of Kohler products in showrooms to include pricing strategies, marketing programs, and communication pieces.

  • Provides Product Management with ongoing analyses and evaluations of performance of initiatives, trends, potential demand, and competition, making recommendations to increase sales.

  • Monitor competitor promotions for each product group.  Apprise product management of competitor activities and changes in the marketplace. Maintain continuous awareness of competitive products, pricing, performance, market share, etc. for purpose of recommending product continuance or modifications, market potential, etc.

  • Maintain continuous contact with customers, sales, trade groups, engineering, and all other internal and external sources which can contribute to the development of new product ideas to satisfy consumer needs, are marketable, and provide for Kohler Co. growth and increased profit.

  • Actively participate in seminars, professional organization meetings, trade shows, etc. to keep abreast of new marketing concepts or other developments germane to the function.

  • Skills/Requirements

    Bachelor's Degree in Marketing or related field.

  •  8+ years of business and/or marketing experience, with at least 2 dedicated to retail or store marketing, partnership management, project management, direct marketing, advertising, direct response, or sales management.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of marketing principles and ability to analyze, think creatively, innovate, and plan with attention to detail and accuracy through execution.

  • Requires excellent communication skills.

  • Travel

    • Travel 10-20% to Kohler Signatures Stores, Kohler Experience Centers, trade shows, and conferences as needed.
