Report directly to the charge therapist on every shift. Responsible for all aspects of Respiratory Care including, ventilator, management, oxygen therapy, specialty gas administration, aerosolized medication therapy, chest physio-therapy, blood gas analysis, patient care assessment, multi-disciplinary team collaboration, Charge Therapist leadership role in the absence of the Charge Therapist, ongoing and continuing education as dictated by the hospital and the State of Pa., participation in Quality Assessment activities within the department.
Skills & Abilities:
Excellent interpersonal skills required with initiative, judgment, and problem-solving skills. Excellent customer service and teamwork skills required. Ability to organize with great time management abilities to ensure workload
accomplishment. Able to meet physical demands: standing, walking, bending, and lifting. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Adaptable to change where patient care needs dictate change. Professional role model.
Demonstrates age appropriate skills applicable to SCHC.
Training & Education:
High School Diploma or GED required
Must possess Pa. State license in good standing. Must be a graduate form an AARC accredited school. Must be RRT or
RRT eligible through the NBRC. Pediatric experience desired.
Current BLS and PALS required.
Must possess a Pa. State License to practice Respiratory Care. License must be in good standing
Pediatric experience preferred. Minimum of one year hospital and critical care experience required.
Specialty gas administration exposure preferred.
Responsible for supervision of staff therapists in the absence of the charge therapist. (Full time only)
