Lencore Acoustics is seeking an experienced Purchasing and Supply Chain Specialist to join our Procurement & Purchasing team. The role will be responsible for developing purchasing strategies, maintaining positive relationships with suppliers, coordinating with internal teams regarding their supply needs, and overseeing the production at third-party manufacturing site(s).

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:

  •          Establishes performance metrics for measurement, comparison, or evaluation of factors affecting the supply chain.


  •          Manages daily purchasing activities, issuing purchase orders, resolving supply gaps, coordinating with production facilities, etc.


  •          Interfaces with third-party manufacturers on material receipts, production management and inventory accuracy.


  •          Develops and implements purchasing strategies.


  •          Manages supplier relations and negotiates supply agreements, prices, timelines, etc.


  •          Maintains the supplier database, purchase records, and related documentation.


  •          Coordinates with sales the planning functions to determine and manage inventory needs.


  •          Ensures that all procured items meet the required quality standards and specifications, including finished goods production at sub-contractors' sites.


  •          Prepares cost estimates.


  •          Analyzes current inventories and procedures; suggests improvements to help increase efficiency of supply chain and profitability for the company.


  •          Identifies optimal shipment and transportation methods.


  •          Acts as part of the team coordinating engineering changes, product line extension, or new product launches, ensuring timely and orderly material and production flow transitions.


  •          Monitors the performance of suppliers, assessing their ability to meet quality and delivery requirements; identifies and qualifies potential new suppliers in collaboration with other departments. 


  •          Performs other related duties as assigned.

    Required Skills/Abilities:


  •          Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.


  •          Excellent verbal and written communication skills.


  •          Thorough understanding of purchasing, manufacturing, and logistics. 


  •          Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills, with proven ability to create and maintain positive working relationships with vendors, suppliers, shippers, and customers.


  •          Strong leadership skills.


  •          Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.


  •          Proficient with SAP products a plus


  •          Experience with ERP and/or MRP systems


  •          Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

    Education and Experience:


  •          Bachelor's degree in Business or related field required; Master's degree preferred.


  •          Three years of experience as buyer, supply chain analyst, or similar relevant position required.

    Physical Requirements:


  •          Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.


  •          Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
