What do you get to do in this position?

This position will focus on developing long term purchasing strategies, delivering productivity , quality, deliveries on time.

Activities to be performed:

  • Deployment to execution of a key commodity strategy and supplier orientation panel (SOC) at North America level.
  • Propose productivity initiatives (Lean, QVE, rebalancing) within his/her perimeter in consistency with commodity strategy, and support execution.
  • Contribute to the purchasing database update by providing necessary information to commodity managers / supplier leaders / plants / global functions.
  • Active participation on preparing and /or launching RFQ´s, auctions, frequent benchmarking for local purchases.
  • Keep track of productivity numbers, report Gaps, analyze variances and be able to challenge projects and targets.
  • Apply and control with all price changes and load /modify projects into the system.
  • Administrate and maintain updated price lists and contracts with suppliers.
  • Maintain close relationship with Suppliers to secure service level, quality and productivity.
  • Active participation on negotiating contracts with local supplier to secure procurement, payment terms, etc.
  • Focus on Costumer and Supplier services

Analytical with a great ability to build relationships with good written and verbal communication skills

Customer oriented with strong negotiation skills and are self motivated.

proficient with Excel and similar tools

5-6 years of experience in purchasing

Project Management experience

Knowledge of reading engineering drawings its desirable

Experience developing and managing supply base strategically

Experience in cost reductions projects

Good Negotiation skills

Strategy development and execution of any specific commodity
