Senior Software Engineer at Cigna in Tampa, Florida

Job Description:

Seeking a senior level software engineer to join the Rapid Prototyping team within New Product Development Department who has experience developing client facing features and capabilities. This role requires someone who has expert knowledge on creating RESTful services using Java, Springboot as well as frontend technologies like React JS, JavaScript, CSS and HTML . This is a highly collaborative team that challenges product thinking, testing assumptions and minimizing risk of developing new products and solutions by quickly bringing concepts to life for stakeholder feedback.

Responsibilities:

• Design and build prototypes i.e. The Rapid Prototype, which becomes the application system
  
  


• Work closely with other developers, product managers, principle engineers and business stakeholders to ensure that application solutions meet business/customer requirements to test and measure early stage solutions
  
  


• Provide rapid designs to make hardware and software tradeoffs to ensure technical performance and design to cost goals
  
  


• Coach peers on organizational change initiatives with focus on lean processes, cost reduction, and design for use Assist with deployment and post deployment plans to support the conversion and deployment of the solution Interact with architects and developers to ensure that application solution meets customer needs
  
  


• Lead the design and acquisition of tooling for new product development initiatives. Advice product development based on testing results
  
  


• Creating process flows and diagrams necessary to assist the design thinking process
  
  

This role is WAH/Flex which allows most if not all of the work to be performed at home. Employees must be fully vaccinated if they choose to come onsite.

Basic Qualifications:

• 5+ years of work experience in creating scalable and secure web applications using React, Springboot, Java and JavaScript
  
  


• Experience in defining requirements and conceptualizing solutions on related projects or work assignments
  
  


• Exposure with AWS and Mobile development (IOS/Android development) is highly desired
  
  


• Exposure with Agile development methodologies is highly desired
