Who are you?

The Sales Operations Analyst within Commercial Affairs is responsible for a full range of financial support which helps ensure an accurate sales forecast, achievement of organization’s sales goals and preservation of quality revenue backlog. The Analyst will act as liaison with numerous internal departments to obtain knowledge on and to drive closure of outstanding new business and change order opportunities. The analyst will use the knowledge obtained from calls and other sources to apply changes to the sales forecast. The analyst will review proposal deliverables, draft contracts and change orders and ensure that the financial aspects of those documents are properly recorded in the organization’s CRM system. The analyst will record and report new business and change orders by adjusting revenue backlog upon contract signature or other proper notifications of award. The analyst will interface with senior and executive management by responding to their requests for metrics and analysis relating to sales and win-loss.



Responsibilities

What will you be doing?

  • Completes routine internal reporting on key sales metrics.
  • Prepares and provides supporting analysis month-end, quarter-end & year-end reporting and metrics on a scheduled basis.
  • Acquire data from primary or secondary data sources and maintain databases/data systems.
  • Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets.
  • Conducts data analyses to address strategic questions.
  • Provides oversight of data, quality, and structure in sales systems.
  • Manipulates and consolidates data from various databases into summary reports to produce ad hoc reports independently for senior management.
  • Provides analysis of the data and drives action across the Company through timely, impactful deliverables.
  • Assign project identifiers for legacy PRA divisions.
  • Initiate project setup when work on a study is approved to begin.
  • Perform client financial assessments for existing and prospective clients using financial statements, press releases and third party reports. Communicate financial risk to the senior members of the Commercial Affairs team.


Qualifications

What do you need to have?

  • BA/BS in accounting, finance, or business related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Moderate experience in a data analysis function within the pharmaceutical or CRO industry or comparable experience in a related field of study.
  • Experience working with sales data and /or business intelligence information preferred.
  • Proficiency in Salesforce and Microsoft Office suite, specifically Microsoft Excel.
  • Possesses a strong understanding of data organization, statistical interpretation of data, synthesis of findings, and appropriate reporting.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, attention to detail, analytical ability, and demonstrated critical thinking skills are essential.
  • Knowledge of the CRO industry strongly desired.
  • Ability to organize, prioritize, meet deadlines, follow-up, and coordinated multiple assignments.
  • Must be able to read, write and speak fluent English
  • CRM (SalesForce.com) experience preferred.
  • Position is office based in Raleigh, NC when the spread of covid slows
