SDI Digital Accessibility is seeking an experienced Assistive Technology Expert level user to join the team as a Digital Accessibility Tester. The team is located in Charlotte NC.
The Digital Accessibility Tester is the SDI Digital Accessibility Subject Matter Expert (SME) on Accessibility Testing and AT (Assistive Technology) tools. This person will work in a highly collaborative environment, supporting scrum teams to deliver accessibility solutions throughout the Agile testing life cycles. This includes testing with Assistive Technologies or interpreting the test results.
This position will contribute to the writing of Wells Fargo Online Standards and Guidelines ensuring compliance with WCAG 2.1 A and AA success criteria.

What you'll be responsible for:
Promote accessibility within the organization; advocate for considering accessibility as a vital part of the customer experience
Perform various accessibility testing tasks to support tasks related to the governance of quality, compliant front-end code
Perform tasks to ensure delivery of accessible design and markup, such as:
Conduct accessibility testing assessments of code, apps, web pages, documents, PDFs, presentations, etc. (I.e. Products assets produced by software development teams) various devices such as mobile phones/tablets (Apple and Android) and desktop
Log, document, manage and explain accessibility defects founds
Perform thorough Accessibility testing, spot testing or heuristic reviews of coded deliverables, as needed
Educate and inform project teams of end to end processes
Provide guidance for use of ARIA for web technologies such as HTML and mobile platforms
Ensure that solutions for accessibility contribute to a positive user experience for all customers
Help maintain tools and resources such as testing software and documented standards
Contribute to accessibility training of others
Lead and present training sessions to internal and external audiences
Develop and facilitate accessibility training and presentations
Plan and perform web accessibility testing with assistive technologies such as JAWS, VoiceOver, and ZoomText, with the understanding of their interactions with multiple browsers, devices and platform combinations.
Assist in the management, planning, facilitation, and tracking of vendor accessibility testing engagements
Log and manage defects found by accessibility testing
6+ years of experience in one or a combination of the following: digital customer experience, digital product/program management, digital platforms, or digital consulting demonstrated through work or military experience
Knowledge and understanding of accessibility methods and standards, Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG), or section 508 compliance guidelines
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
Financial services industry experience
Ability to operate effectively in a geographically dispersed organization
Strong organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritizing skills
Ability to execute in a fast paced, high demand, environment while balancing multiple priorities
Ability to negotiate, influence, and collaborate to build successful relationships
Ability to exercise independent judgment and creative problem solving techniques
Other Desired Qualifications
3+ years of experience in Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.0 and 2.1 Combined
Experience accessibility testing native mobile applications on iOS and Android
Experience accessibility testing web-based applications on Windows desktop and MAC
Accessibility Developer experience
3+ years experience as part of an in-house development team or design agency consulting to Fortune 500 clients
Expert level using a defect tracking tool such as JIRA
Expert level user of various (at least one) assistive technologies such as JAWS, NVDA, VoiceOver, or TalkBack
Experience using accessibility testing tools such as AMP ( Accessibility Management Platform), Continuum, Wave or WorldSpace / aXe, and V-PAT.
International Association of Accessibility Professionals (IAAP) Certified
Proven ability to identifying creative approaches to accessibility challenges and problems
Ability to convey issues to developers and technical partners verbally and in writing to include use of ARIA for web technologies such as HTML and mobile platforms
Willingness to work on-site at stated location on the job opening
