Who we are looking for

The Global Delivery Business is looking for an experienced Project Manager that enables us to successfully drive and deliver methodology and procedures as well as requirements and design in support of our Alpha Services Strategy. 

The project manager will be responsible for liaising with multiple business and support teams across State Street. This position develops and manages complex projects that span departments and functions across State Street; ensures effectiveness and efficiency of project operations, including indirect staff management responsibilities. Ensure project teams meet project objectives, dates, budget, and meet success criteria.

The focus of this role will be to drive new client implementation as well as projects that seek to improve productivity and communication within the Global Delivery Alpha Services organization. This position involves extensive contact with Management and Senior Executives of State Street and its existing and potential new clients.

What you will be responsible for

As a Project Manager (Global Delivery Alpha Services) , Vice President you will


  • Manage deliverables of a large, scale enterprise-wide project with multiple teams


  • Leadership position that takes accountability for on-going monitoring of project progress and takes appropriate action to ensure work items are delivered on time with high levels of quality


  • Engage with the leads to challenge and problem solve departures from plan. Where departures from plan are needed, assess impact across workstreams and refine plan


  • Understand organizational context and be able to identify and engage relevant stakeholders to remove barriers


  • Participate/lead program level meetings with program stakeholders


  • Promote a collaborative cross-business environment that fosters change utilizing the Change Management Framework


  • Understand organizational context and be able to identify and engage relevant stakeholders to remove barriers


  • Ensure data privacy and security needs are in alignment with requirements and design


  • Responsible for maintaining effective internal controls and implementing corrective actions to address any process and control deficiencies


  • Act in accordance with Risk Excellence and role model Ethical behavior and decision making as part of our Way Ahead foundation



  • Perform other duties as required

  • Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint, Project, Visio, Excel, and Word required.  SQL knowledge desirable.


  • Working knowledge of industry-standard project management, collaboration and data visualization tools incl. MS Project, Power Bi, Tableau


  • Experience in Agile Methodology and tools (i.e. JIRA, Rally, RTC) preferred


  • Strong analytical skills required


  • Skilled in complex business analysis with expertise in requirements gathering and documentation


  • Advanced reasoning


  • Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills; ability to liaise between the business and technology teams, strong collaboration and relationship management skills


  • Strong problem solver


  • Self-motivation, self-assurance and self-management


  • Ability to work as part of a team


Education & Preferred Qualifications


  • 10+ years job related/industry experience in financial services or consulting is required


  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent required
