If so, then The Fish Market wants you to join our team as a Seafood Specialist and Clerk in our restaurant.
 

Brief Job Description:

The Fish Market Seafood Specialist and Clerk must be able to maintain a smile and a good attitude while working in a fast-paced environment and preparing fish for both our display case and the restaurant. The Seafood Specialist is responsible for ensuring that all seafood prepared for guests and sold from the seafood case meets our standards of Uncompromised Quality.

Essential Job Duties:

• Providing uncompromised customer service by urgently greeting guests and responding to questions


• Advising guests as to which products to purchase and providing them with proper cooking and storing information


• Ensuring a fresh and appealing case by keeping cases clean and well stocked with fresh seafood


• Preparing, packaging, weighing, and pricing seafood for purchase


• Handling seafood such as: trimming, fileting, gutting, boning, or cracking shellfish upon request


• Maintaining accurate signage and updating pricing for the case


• Following The Fish Market’s standards for product freshness, storing, rotation, and stocking


• Operating and sanitizing all equipment in a safe and proper manner

• California Food Handler’s card


• Have the ability to work a flexible schedule that changes as the business changes including nights, weekends and holidays.


• Be able to lift/carry products horizontally/vertically up to 75 pounds.


• Be capable of standing up to 8 hours a shift.


• A sense of urgency


• Willingness to learn or adapt to a new environment
