DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• The Shipping Attendant is responsible for the proper preparation and loading of all outgoing shipments of finished products, unloading of incoming shipments, maintenance of the shipping yard/workspace and transport of materials/finished products to appropriate department and/or storage location. ​

  Strong desire for personal advancement and the willingness to achieve by learning our manufacturing systems and reporting as scheduled with an upbeat team player mindset.​

  Will work in the loading dock or yard​

  
  


• 
  

  SAP or shipping program experience; familiar with systems​

  
  


• 
  

  Recognize potential hazards, not make unsafe decisions; ODOT regulations to know how to load and secure loads​

  Flexibility with hours to cover others on paid time off​

  
  


• 
  

  Self-directed, able to go where the work is.​

  
  


• 
  

  Proven history of good attendance.​

  
  


• 
  

  Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-speed environment, follow standardized work  and adhere to safe work practices in a continuous improvement environment​

As the Shipping Attendant you may....

 

• Load and coordinate outgoing shipments, process and print bills of lading and paperwork ​


• 
  

  Unload incoming shipments and receive goods in SAP, ensuring proper documentation (stamped, labeled) and storage of the product, and submit to appropriate shipping personnel ​

  
  


• 
  

  Examines outgoing shipments for any product defects  ​

  
  


• 
  

  Stages loads according to best practices​

  
  


• 
  

  Stamp or glue identifying information and shipping instructions onto boxes or containers, ​

  
  


• 
  

  Stamp, &/or label identifying information and shipping instructions onto boxes, reels or containers and ensure proper documentation for shipments ​

  
  


• 
  

  Post weights and shipping charges; affix postage ​

  
  


• 
  

  Shipping label if needed

  
  


• 
  

  Responsible for weekend shipping activities including transactions and paperwork​

  
  


• 
  

  May perform other tasks in the department for coverage – team-oriented
