Job Description:

Job Summary


You will be a data science developer in the Research & development division of NetApp.

As a software engineering and machine learning specialist, you possess deep knowledge on machine learning, and AI techniques to derive business value from the full range of internal and external data sets, leveraging Cloud-based "Big Data" technology. You will be contributing to the architecture, high level design and responsible for development and implementation of software as web applications and software as a service on cloud.

You will be part of a highly skilled technical team and working closely with the team of senior software developers and technical director. You will be responsible for contributing and aligning to system level application architecture that includes high level design, coding standards, and development and testing of code. The software applications you build will be used by our internal sales team, marketing team, partners and customers.

This position requires an individual to be creative, team-oriented, technology savvy, driven to produce results and demonstrates the ability to working across teams.


Job Requirements



  • Understand the business reality behind large sets of data and develop meaningful solutions comprising of analytics as well as marketing management

  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to determine relevant data sources

  • Expertise and experience in Data normalization, transformation and Feature selection

  • techniques

  • Experience in advanced analytics, machine learning, and AI techniques to derive business value from the full range of internal and external data sets, leveraging Cloud-based "Big Data" technology. You may perform modelling of various nature.

    • Forecasting & predictions

    • Anomaly detection

    • Time series analysis

    • Text mining and NLP



  • Good understand of deep learning algorithms and workflows, and experience with Torch, Caffe, MXNet, TensorFlow is a Plus.

  • Ability to present results of analysis in a clear and impactful manner

  • Test performance of machine learning and deep learning models

  • Strong software development skills with proficiency in Python and R. Experienced user of libraries such as scikit-learn, scipy, R, and NLTK.

  • Prior experience working in AIOps projects and skills on Ansible is a preferred.

  • Experience in Hadoop, Spark, Hive, Cassandra, Kafka and NoSQL databases will be a plus

  • Familiarity with ML pipelines in production systems around continuous integration and learning, and knowledge of MLOps tools is a plus.


Responsibilies



  • Work closely with internal stakeholders like the business teams, engineering teams and partner teams and align them with respect to your focus area

  • Innovate by adapting new modelling techniques and procedures

  • You should have excellent business and communication skills to be able to work with business owners to develop and define key business questions and to build data sets that answer those questions.

  • You own customer relationship about data and execute tasks that are manifestations of such ownership, like ensuring high data availability, low latency, documenting data details and transformations and handling user notifications and training

  • Architect and design highly scalable, available, secure and elastic solutions that implement industry best practices and cutting edge technologies.

  • Evaluate technology selections based on the team skills and reusability of earlier code base, drive the design and guide the implementation of new architecture.

  • Define integration approaches at different application layers and tiers for information exchange with other sub systems/ tools.

  • Will work with teams across the company in problem solving and design efforts.


Interaction



  • Collaborate and innovate with other team members, product owners, and scrum masters to design, code, and test new software.

  • Work cross geography and willing to travel 0 - 10%.

  • This individual must work effectively with staff to Sr.Director level employees within the function, across functions and with external parties.

  • Limited supervision is provided, as this individual can operate, drive results, and set priorities independently.

  • The ideal candidate will be a proactive contributor and subject matter expert.
