Traveling RN - Per Diem at Vitalant in Coeur d Alene, Idaho

Job Description:

JOB SUMMARY:

Under direct supervision of a licensed physician, this per diem position is responsible for performing Mononuclear Cell (MNC) collections/procedures at various locations, i.e., Spokane WA, Coeur d'Alene ID, Missoula MT, Casper WY, El Paso TX, and possibly others.  Training can/will occur at any or all of the locations previously listed.  Travel expenses are covered per company policy.  This is a per diem position, therefore not eligible for benefits.  Must have current licensure in at least one of the previous states listed and be willing to obtain licensure in other states as needed.

Typically, the position will travel 1-3 days per week (usually Sun-Tue; occasional Thu-Fri) and schedules are posted 2-4 weeks in advance.  Once to the destination, collection/procedure days can start as early as 6am and end by 4pm.

Knowledge/Education


  • Associate’s degree required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.

  • Knowledge of rationale and techniques relating to assigned duties required.

Licenses/ Certifications


  • Associates Degree in Nursing or Diploma from an accredited School of Nursing required.

  • Current CPR certification required.

  • Valid driver’s license required.

Experience


  • Previous apheresis experience preferred.

  • Previous acute hospital experience preferred.

  • Excellent phlebotomy/venipuncture/IV skills preferred.

  • Must possess the skills and abilities to successfully perform all assigned duties and responsibilities.

  • Must be able to maintain confidentiality.

  • Must be able to understand, follow, and give precise written and verbal instructions, and perform all activities safely.

  • Ability to work in a team environment and participate as an active team member.

  • Able to organize, prioritize, and execute a variable workload and multiple priorities.

  • Must be able to work flexible shifts.

  • Must have a valid driver's license, be at least 19 years of age, and have a good driving record.

  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
