Position Summary:

Carestream Windsor has a great opportunity for a DCS Technician with 5 years of overall experience. Great team and great pay.Apply below.

Position Responsibilities:

1. Implement strategies to assure the high availability of the department's distributed control and data historian systems.

2. Optimize tuning and control strategy with the objective to minimize process variability and consequently maximize machine availability and quality performance while minimizing waste.

3. Continually improve the machine alarm strategy to minimize reaction time in case of process abnormalities;

4. Develop and implement control strategy for new installations;

5. Design and implement industrial automation including PLC (programmable logic controller) programming, implementation of industrial networks and selection of field devices.

6. Troubleshoot production problems affecting quality, waste or machine availability and implement corrective actions to prevent reoccurrence.

7. Support operations:

a. Provide training to increase overall knowledge about the process;

b. Identify opportunities to simplify operational procedures (through poke yoke and automation for example) and therefore reduce variability in the outcomes of the operational interventions;

c. Suggest procedure changes to improve safety, process performance and product conformance.

8. Coach maintenance Mechanics on best way to address problems in his area of responsibility.

9. Propose, prioritize and lead improvement projects, assessing and documenting the risk associated with the changes;

10. Lead validation of process and equipment changes to assure product quality.

Required Skills & Education:

1. Minimum education level: high school.

2. 2 years of experience working with distributed control systems (Fischer-Provo, Honeywell TDC, ABB or Westinghouse WDPF/Ovation);

3. Background in analog process control, continuous process control system, analog instrumentation;

4. 5 years of experience in industrial maintenance in automated processes;

4. Strong MS Excel knowledge;

5. Ability to work independently or as a member of a team.

6. Good communication and interpersonal skills.

7. Strong analytical and problem solving capabilities.

8. High initiative and outstanding sense of urgency, compatible with a manufacturing environment.
