Position Summary
The Associate Director for Business Analysis and Systems serves Cornell University as a resource for the integration of Financial Aid and Student Employment (FASE) student information systems, operational practices, and compliance controls; responsible for the business analysis, coordination, and maintenance of complex technology systems and business processes that integrate data from multiple sources. This position collaborates closely with FASE leadership and the Office of Enrollment Compliance and Design, utilizing student information systems and associated business processes to ensure outstanding operational effectiveness, exceptional service to students, and impeccable compliance with applicable federal, state, and institutional laws, regulations.
In collaboration with the Deputy Director and FASE Operations team, the Associate Director will support all aspects of financial aid application processing, awarding, audit controls, and other required electronic processes; coordinates annual operational schedules and systems upgrades/testing; oversees annual functional set-up and audit controls that support: document tracking, needs analysis, budget formulas, external award load, electronic notifications, federal, state, and institutional processing, item type management, aid disbursement as well as reporting and research.
Other responsibilities include: troubleshooting system support tickets, internal security provisioning, liaison for central IT units, collaboration with campus partners and external vendors (College Board, Heartland ECSI, and the Department of Education).
Creative thinking, self-motivation, accuracy, organization, and attention to detail are all critical in this position along with the ability to work under pressure and challenge the status quo.
This position will be considered for a fully remote work location with occasional travel to campus.
