Summary of Major Responsibilities

The CAD Technician Intern will work closely with the Facilities Department and its stakeholders in establishing and maintaining drawings in support of Exact Sciences' operations. This will involve developing drawing standards, receiving and accepting drawings at the completion of projects, regularly updating the record sets to match renovations or maintenance activities, as well as general drafting in support of projects.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    Maintain the drawing database following established standards for drawing creation and archiving.
  • Work directly with outside design consultants and contractors on the turnover and receipt of as-built record drawing files for completed projects.

  • Ensure that turnover files are in an accessible format and are complete for the needs of record drawing files.

  • Communicates with vendors, engineering, maintenance, and manufacturing regarding new and revised prints.

  • Utilize knowledge of various equipment, engineering practices, mathematics, building materials, and other physical sciences to complete drawings.

  • Use computer assisted design/drafting software (primarily AutoCAD and Revit) to develop, design, manage, and maintain drawings.

  • Check, mark-up, and approve drawings for release.

  • Apply excellent oral and written communication as well as strong interpersonal skills.

  • Display strong teamwork as well as ability to work independently.

  • Ability to work designated schedule.

  • Ability to work on a mobile device, tablet, or in front of a computer screen and/or perform typing for approximately 90% of a typical working day.

  • Ability to work seated for approximately 90% of a typical working day. Ability to work standing for approximately 10% of a typical working day.

  • Ability and means to travel between local Exact Sciences locations.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements


  • Currently pursuing an Associate's degree or Bachelor's degree in architectural technology, drafting, CAD or related field.

  • Demonstrated ability to be detail-driven and able to follow through on complex instructions and projects.

  • Demonstrated ability to read and understand facility drawings and details.

  • Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office.

  • Experience with facilities' software drafting tools: AutoCAD and Revit., Visio.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of BIM coordination and the ability to coordinate multiple models.

  • Excellent customer service skills.

  • Excellent organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills, ability to make decisions with limited information and operate with autonomy.

  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate work with multiple teams.

  • Ability to accurately follow procedures with minimal direction.

  • Proficiency in use of electronic devices: laptop, tablet, smart phone, electronic tape measure, etc.

  • Strong computer skills to include internet navigation and email usage.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, such as: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Agile.

  • Demonstrated ability to perform the essential duties of the position with or without accommodation.
