The Accountant position will be assigned a group of locations to support; with primary emphasis on general accounting, margin analysis, and financial reporting and a strong emphasis on accurate and timely management reporting. The position will also ensure that adequate internal controls are executed to support SOX requirements and sound management controls.
Essential Functions:
Serve as a single point of contact to assigned locations to support all aspects of the facilities financial statements, internal controls, and management reports
Fully participate and assist in facilitating a timely and accurate month-end closing process
Execute assigned general accounting record-to-report processes across the Grain Division including mark to market calculations and analysis, recording journal entries, and executing other closing tasks and controls as assigned
Responsible for preparation and review of various balance sheet reconciliations including adequate procedures and processes to ensure no material cross period adjustments
Generate applicable analysis and reports to divisional, regional, and location management to provide clarity, understanding and explanations of monthly financial results (EBIT, Net Assets, etc.)
Ensure that internal controls are defined, implemented, and executed to support company SOX requirements and sound internal control practices
Be an engaged business partner to location commercial and operations team
Support locations with technical SAP and GTM reporting issues; working with GTM Business Support and the Interior Accounting Manager
Coordinate general accounting oversight - e.g. BPOpen RC's, P-Cards, SAP Procure to Pay, CAPEX projects, etc.
Provide support to Grain Planning & Analysis (P&A) functions for analysis of monthly results, forecasting, and budgeting processes

Skills/Experience
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or related fields
2+years of experience in agribusiness industry with strong understanding of commodity accounting and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) related to the commodity business
SAP FICO core competency and/or GTM preferred
Excellent communication skills - verbal and written
Self starter with strong commitment to continuous learning

Strong problem solving, analytical and organization skills
Able to work in team environment
