OBJECTIVE
Receives, records, and distributes work orders to Truck Drivers upon receipt of Client's purchase orders for delivery of building materials products and lumber.


The pay range for this position is $13.00/hr - $20.00/hr depending on experience.

INTENT OF JOB DESCRIPTION AND MODIFICATION
This job description describes the duties and responsibilities, qualification requirements, physical demands, work environment, etc. for this job. NOTE: Typically the Pay Status of this position is hourly at a small operation and may be hourly at a medium operation. The complexity of the job and experience required to perform the job determine the Pay Status.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The following are the essential duties and responsibilities of the Job. Other duties may be assigned.

1. Schedule delivery of lumber and building materials to customer sites by utilizing Company Truck Drivers and vehicles as efficiently as possible.

2. Take orders and complete loading slip orders.

3. Assist Truck Drivers on routing, delivery problems and keeping daily delivery schedules. Maintain constant contact with Truck Drivers through radio and/or telephone communications.

4. Resolve delivery problems directly with clients with the assistance of the Yard Operations Manager.

5. Fill duties and responsibilities of Forklift Operator as required.

6. Fill duties and responsibilities of Truck Driver as required.

7. Attend and participate in all Company sponsored training programs as required.

8. Perform any other duties, responsibilities or tasks as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and three to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
A valid driver's license of the appropriate type and class issued by the state of residence to operate the size and type of Company truck assigned is required. If the Company truck assigned is subject to Federal Department of Labor regulations, a valid Commercial Driver's License is required. Furthermore, the driver's record must be acceptable to the Company's insurance carrier and must conform to all restrictions listed on the license in order to operate any Company truck or vehicle.

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS
Good interpersonal, communication and Customer Service skills are necessary. Knowledge of building materials products and lumber required. Previous supervisory experience in a lumber yard is required.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

While performing the duties of this job, the Associate regularly works in outside weather conditions and is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
