This position is the alternate POC for the Government. The Contractor shall designate one (1) individual to serve as the Desktop Manager. The Desktop Manager is responsible for management and oversight of the Desktop Environment for NSF Staff and Contractors. This includes Desktop Architecture, Desktop Engineering, Desktop Security, and User Account Administration. Services include workstation image management for both Windows and Mac Operating Systems, software packaging, patching, and distribution. Security services include proactive vulnerability management and remediation, travel scans, and forensic scans, as necessary.

Job Duties

Directs the completion of tasks within estimated timeframes and budget constraints. Schedules and assigns duties to subordinates and subcontractors and ensures assignments are completed as directed. Enforces work standards and reviews. Resolves work discrepancies to ensure compliance with contract requirements. Interfaces with the Contractor's Program Manager as well as Government management personnel including, but not limited to, the Contracting Officer and the Contracting Officer's Technical Representative. Prepares written and oral reports for contractor management and Government representatives. Provides competent leadership and responsible program direction through successful performance of a variety of detailed, diverse project transitioning elements.

Requirements


  • 6+ years with a bachelor's degree or equivalent. Preferred that degree is in an IT-related field

  • Demonstrated experience as a Desktop Manager (preferred minimum of 6 years of experience).

  • Experience working in a customer service role

  • Experience working with SLAs

  • Experience as a Desktop Architect

  • Experience with Desktop Engineering management

  • Experience with ITSM tools such as ServiceNow or equivalent

  • Experience with Automatic Call Distribution Systems

  • Provides Leadership for the desktop team

  • Provides Desktop Architect for the NSF

  • Leads the Service Management team

  • Asset/Inventory Management

  • Provides Risk Analysis, Root Cause Analysis

  • Refresh Management

  • Procurement Management

  • Customer Service

  • Access Management

  • Security Management

  • National Science Foundation (NSF) or The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) experience is required

  • Tier 2 Hardware/Application Support (Diagnosis/Remediation, Access (password) Reset, Application Install/Removal, Performance Tuning)

  • Reporting, Compliance Analysis (Maintenance, Licensing, Security, Encryption, Records Management)

  • Demonstrated strong oral and written communication skills

  • Knowledge of industry-accepted standards and best practices related to Information Management operations, and with Information Technology Service Management (ITSM) best practices

  • ITIL Foundations or higher certification

  • Preferred experience supporting and interfacing with senior executive stakeholders

  • Asset/Inventory Management experience

  • Access Management experience

  • Workstation Refresh Management experience

  • Workstation Security Management experience

  • Team Development Experience

  • Risk Analysis experience

  • Release Management experience

  • Must be US Citizen
