About the Position

VHB is seeking an Environmental Engineer/Geologist/Hydrogeologist to join our growing Hauppauge, New York office. Our Site Investigation and Remediation team is eager to mentor the next generation of professionals. Responsibilities


  • Field data collection (soil, sediment, groundwater, surface water, soil gas sampling)

  • Observe and document drilling activities (soil borings and monitoring well installation)

  • Observe and document site construction activities for environmental compliance

  • Leveraging technology to support data management and visualization

  • Conduct site assessments

  • Assist with writing technical reports, correspondence, notes and memoranda

Skills and Attributes


  • Ability to work in field and office settings

  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills

  • Motivated and ability to problem solve and work independently

Qualifications


  • BS or MS in Civil or Environmental Engineering, Geology, or Hydrogeology (MS preferred); on track to obtain professional licensure.

  • Prior experience (0 to 3+ years) in professional environmental/remediation consulting helpful but not required.

  • OSHA 40 hr. HAZWOPER and Asbestos Inspector certifications preferred; will train if necessary.

  • Proficiency in GIS and CAD preferred.

New employees will be onboarded virtually and begin their employment from home. We are in the process of planning for a safe return to the workplace in alignment with government and CDC guidelines.
