Your Position:

Your Responsibilities

As a Cost Management Specialist, Indirect Materials & Services in the John Deere Global Cost Reporting Team Moline, IL you will provide project management leadership/support for the tracking, analysis, and workflow of increases and savings projects and provide support to the Indirect Materials and Services strategic sourcing groups. You will lead and participates in the development and maintenance of cost management methodologies and tools, along with the implementation of these methodologies and tools, for integration and use in the Enterprise Product Delivery Processes (EPDP) and the Enterprise Order Fulfillment Process (EOFP) to assist in acquiring the most cost effective products from our supply base.

In addition you will:


  • Manage, analyze and review GPT process covering $4B in commodity spend.
  • Lead the development of global cost goals with strategic sourcing and Regional Procurement Centers
  • Identify, organize, and direct project team resources as required to explore and develop solutions that will support recommendations for process or system enhancements
  • Determine root cause of undesirable performance of systems, processes, or metrics to allow for the prioritization of the issues and the development of focused solutions
  • Provide process documentation and training as required to team members to ensure that they have the relevant understanding of systems, processes, or metrics
  • Execute and implement approved projects either acting independently, as a team member or as a team leader to improve the performance of systems, processes, or metrics
  • Support and lead process improvement and cost management tool development

What Skills You Need


  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to think critically and show demonstrated results
  • Understanding of Order Fulfillment Process.
  • Skill in interpersonal communications, negotiation, and conflict resolution.
  • Knowledge of unit processes and operations.
  • Strong proficiency in MS office, specifically SharePoint and Excel
  • 3 or more years in SM, or finance/accounting role or equivalent analytical role.
  • 1 or more years of demonstrated team leadership skills and experience
  • 1 or more years of demonstrated project management experience
  • Less Complex Project, consists of some or all of the following criteria: 5 or less persons on the project team; 1 or 2 disciplines involved; 1 or 2 facilities involved; scope in dollars is less than $500,000 and is determined on budget, revenues generated, savings, etc.

What Makes You Stand Out


  • Ability to create descriptive reporting (via Power BI, Tableau, Alteryx, etc)
  • Project management experience leading a cross-functional or cross-divisional team
  • Ability to work effectively across divisions and with all leadership levels
  • Experience in or knowledge of manufacturing processes/service industry and associated cost drivers
  • A good understanding of commodity markets and negotiation skills related to supplier price increases
  • MBA or currently pursuing higher education

Education

Ideally you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:

• Degree in a Business/Management, Engineering/Technology discipline, Supply Management discipline, Accounting/Finance discipline or equivalent experience.
