Key Responsibilities

Our Agile Coaches are catalysts for continuous improvement and foster a shift to improve the culture, behaviors, and outcomes in the context of the development of products and solutions.

Coaching and Training

• Coaches/Facilitates Pods and individual roles within Pods on SVB's Agile methodology, Tooling used to manage agile process, and Agile principles and best practices

• Hosts training and workshops on agile frameworks, methodology, skills needed in agile roles


• Evaluate Pods process and make recommendations for enhancing agility

• Take Pods through standard formation engagements activities as documented in SVB's Coaches playbook


• Work in a hands-on manner with pods, helping with agile ceremonies, roles, collaboration, and artifacts to reach greater success in delivery

Agile Maturity

• Work closely with partners, particularly Scrum Leaders, Product Managers, and Delivery Leads to evaluate and assess a Pods maturity and strategy to address gaps


• Create custom learning plans based on evaluation and assessments, for both Pod's as a whole and individuals within the Pods


• Analyze Pod metrics to make recommendations to both Pods and Pod Leadership on improvement opportunities

Training Material

• Work as a coaching center for excellence to enhance training and coaching material

Observations

• Keep weekly journal of risks, impediments, decisions, actions, and recommendations for each Pod in a current engagement.


• Analyze Pod Impediments and Risks to categorize into larger organizational impediments

Skills

• Strong communication skills - Able to propagate information promptly, clearly, and unambiguously


• Proactively identifies and drives large improvement initiatives


• Demonstrates ability to facilitate organizational design and change


• Demonstrates understanding of leadership motivation and builds followership within the organization


• Demonstrates emotional intelligence and persuasive ability in mentoring and conflict resolution


• Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and analytical skills, with the ability to coach and mentor Scrum Masters and Product Owners


• Good at building relationships and navigating through organizations


• Able to develop and foster collaborative teamwork and facilitate team dynamics


• Passionate about understanding people / teams in various stages of Agile environment


• Tirelessly advocates for the best possible solution


• Believes in a non-hierarchical culture of collaboration, transparency, and trust across the team

Education and Experience

• Bachelor's Degree


• 5+ years agile experience, including 2+ years as an agile practitioner and 3+ years as an agile coach


• Past developer experience is highly desired (preferably in agile setup)


• Specific experience with Jira, Confluence, Kanban and similar tools and methodologies


• Technical experience working with various technology stacks and coaching development teams


• Experience with coding and integration


• Experience with transformation

Certifications

• Certified Scrum Practitioner (CSP) or Certified Scrum Coach (CSC) is nice to have


• Agile Coach Certification (ICP-ACC or other)

Travel

• 5%-10%
