Purpose:

~ The primary functions of the Manager, Pricing Analytics is to manage the development of pricing recommendations of Hyundai’s electrified vehicle lineup and provide oversight of pricing operations for the assigned model portfolio.

.

Major Responsibilities:

~ Manage the development of vehicle pricing strategies for select Hyundai models (i.e. IONIQ family, NEXO, Kona EV) and facilitate the pricing operations of assigned vehicles.

~ Analyze each models competitive environment and create insightful pricing recommendations and support documents (price structures/profitability analysis) customized specifically to each model’s unique circumstances.

~ Collaborate with Product Planning, Finance, and Sales to understand vehicle package plans, financial goals, and sales objectives of select Hyundai models. Incorporate understanding into pricing recommendations.

~ Measure Hyundai pricing performance and position relative to each models competitive set.

~ Analyze and track current market trends as they relate to vehicle MSRP and transaction price for assigned vehicles.

~ Present pricing recommendations to Executive management to obtain approvals of proposed new vehicle pricing.

~ Publish approved vehicle pricing (internal system entry) and execute materials for regional and dealer pricing announcements for assigned vehicles.

~ Ensure the consistency and accuracy of all pricing documents used for internal and external communication.

~ Create vehicle pricing forecasts for development of annual budget and track budgeted per vehicle gross profitability against actual performance to ensure each assigned models are achieving calendar year targets.

~ Manage pricing related consulting engagements, residual forecasting, new model price/product events, etc…to maximize residual value, improve 3rd party perception of assigned Hyundai models and communicate model pricing and value position within the segment.

~ Analyze and provide recommendation for ad-hoc pricing strategy-related requests.

~ Establish oneself as a subject matter expert in regards to pricing and packaging strategies as well as a deep knowledge of the competitive sedan/small car landscape.

~ Maintain the green vehicle premium report.

~ Maintain Pricing MTP template and make adjustments to provide to Finance.

~ Manage team’s Budget operation expense, transfers and purchase orders.

~ Provide producer price index data to U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS).

 

Authority:

~ Pricing has the authority to access all relevant HMA cost, product spec, and plans to effectively develop pricing recommendations for executive approval.  Additionally, Pricing is authorized to recommend pricing levels based on supporting analysis of forecasted volume levels, competitive practice, planned incentive spend, margin and revenue requirements, sales efficiency, etc.  Collectively, this authority has a direct impact on company/dealer profitability and sales effectiveness. Additionally, Pricing is authorized to input pricing into SAP.

 

Education:

~ Bachelor’s degree preferred

~ Master’s degree a plus

 

Related Experience:

~ 8 years or more of experience of which at least 4 years of directly related experience in automotive with focus on quantitative and competitive analyses.

~ Automotive OEM experience preferred

~ Experience pricing consumer products preferred

 

Skill/Knowledge:

~ Self-starter, ability to thrive with little supervision, navigating an ambiguous product environment to define future model positioning within current product whitespace

~ Knowledge of the automotive industry, competitive landscapes, and an understanding of pricing strategy

~ Ability to explain complex issues and assess the impact of pricing-based decisions on each model in relation to the overall lineup and competitive marketplace.

~ Ability to formulate well-structured data-driven arguments and communicate, both written and orally, to all levels of management.

~ Experience working well under pressure, with multiple divisions within the company and complete tasks in a fast-paced environment.

~ Strong quantitative analytical skills, with advanced knowledge of MS Excel and PowerPoint, SAP, and ability to grasp new concepts, large databases and proprietary software.
