Purpose:

~ Hyundai Motor North America is seeking to hire a Senior Manager, Digital Planning & Business Architecture in its Digital Business Planning and Connected Ops division. This position is responsible for supporting Hyundai Motor North America (HMNA) business units achieve their business objectives through prudent technology approach and investment. This role will also work directly with our IT partner Hyundai AutoEver America (HAEA) in order to develop and maintain the technical capabilities required to support HMNA business objectives. Business acumen will be critical in articulating to business executives the advantages that stem from the technology investments. In this capacity, this role will work with senior HMNA and HAEA executives to develop IT roadmaps, influence overall IT funding levels, prioritize large capital expenditures, maximize development efficiency and expedite time to market for all key IT processes. In addition, this job will be responsible for building detailed business cases, managing technology and vendor selection, and socializing the importance of a given initiative to senior leadership. Success will require business relationship management, sophisticated process, technology, project management, and strong analytical skills.

 

Major Responsibilities:

~ Business Analysis:  Work with business leaders to understand the business vision, and help them articulate business outcomes, and quantifiable business value.  Keep abreast of current business/technology trends in the automotive industry and be a key influencer for strategic business and technology decisions.  Provide input to business leaders to evaluate different business models based on current technology trends and in-house technology roadmap. Validate business value by working with the business to define and execute POCs.  Quantify benefits through business case.  

~ IT Planning: Work with IT and solution partners to assess implementation options considering enterprise architecture standards, current IT Roadmap, impact to current systems, and projects in progress.  Develop program/project implementation roadmap with emphasis on continuous value delivery.  Assess implementation risks and develop mitigating strategies.  Prepare and present program/project proposals to IT Steering Committee for review and funding approval.  Work with the Purchasing department through the procurement lifecycle to evaluate vendors, select solution partners, and conduct vendor performance management.  Be accountable for program/project performance.         

~ Business Modeling: Work with the business to build and maintain the business-IT process model.  Help business and IT identify impact of changes in business processes and/or IT systems across other parts of the enterprise.  Define new/improved Portfolio management processes as needed.  Conduct process training for stakeholders. 

~ Budgeting: Manage portfolio level budget, spend, and forecast.  Analyze financial data for executive decision makers.  

 

Authority:

~This position is expected to provide critical thinking to propose ideas or solutions that are in the best interest for the HMNA organization.  Hiring, termination, approving timecards, and other Manager related duties are required for this position.

 

Education:

~ Bachelor’s degree required.

~ Master’s degree a plus.

 

Related Experience:

~ Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Management Consultant / Business Analyst / Product Manager / Program Manager / Portfolio Manager in the sales and distribution space, preferably with an automotive OEM.

~ Minimum of 5 years’ experience in portfolio planning and management.  Should be able to demonstrate working with the business to influence business roadmaps and define IT roadmaps.  Should have experience performing financial analysis, creating and managing IT budgets. 

~ Strong business analysis skills and experience. 

~ Familiarity with automotive OEM processes such as sales, marketing, planning, distribution, dealership, customer service, telematics, connected car, etc.  Experience working with cloud, analytics, and AI is a plus.

~ Demonstrated experience in business process modeling using formal business modeling methods and tools. 

~ Demonstrated experience creating and delivering effective presentations tailored to deliver appropriate messages to business and IT executives.

~ The ability to manage by influence as well as authority.

~ Ability to work on multiple projects and set priorities.
