The Sanitation Technician is responsible for cleaning and sanitizing the office and production facility; including all machinery, floors, pipes, etc.
Primary Responsibilities:
Work consistently in a safe manner.
Safely Cleans and sanitizes Conveyors and Overheads, Up and Over, Tunnels, Floors, Walls, Garbage Containers and Cleaning Equipment, Dock areas, Exterior Grounds and Parking Lots
Clean reachable pipes in the facility, white lines and cobwebs.
Segregate and compact recyclables (cardboard) and remove trash .
Cleans walls, windows, doors, vents, lights, hand wash sinks and toilets, partitions, dividers that separate toilet stalls, locker room floors, rest rooms and replenishes rest room supplies (e.g. toilet paper, paper towel, soap, etc.); squeegees standing puddles of water into drains, and collects and empties waste/recycle receptacles, including those containing bio-hazardous materials (e.g. blood or other bodily fluids, etc.).
Clean Conference room/Cafeteria, exterior grounds, refrigerator (interior and exterior), eyewash stations, water fountains.
Follow established Safety, Quality, and Good Manufacturing Practice policies and procedures.
Clean assigned areas according to the Sanitation Schedule. This includes a top-down cleaning of all areas, including walls, pipes, tanks, floors and machinery as well as needed breakdown of machinery in assigned area.
Proper formulation and testing of chemicals.
Proper notification of any malfunctioning machinery during cleaning process.
Communicate with Production and Maintenance personnel regarding status of the lines.
Maintain sanitation tool and chemical inventory. Communicate needs to Quality Manager.
Verify all tools and equipment are properly accounted for and put away.
Maintain organization and cleanliness of dish room and supply closet.
Perform additional tasks as assigned by the Quality Manager.
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
At least 6-12 months of experience in a food facility preferred
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Attention to detail
Good communication skills
Problem solving skills
Dependability
Time management
Follow safety, food safety (HACCP, GMP's, and Sanitation SOP's) regulatory and operating procedures.
Physical Demands/Work Requirements:
Mobility- Physically capable of unimpeded movement to all areas of the plant. The ability to climb fixed or portable ladders. The ability to enter and exit confined spaces as needed.
Sensory- Ability to distinguish color coded equipment and lights on control panels on machinery and equipment. Must be able to hear and identify audible alarms must be tolerant of 100+degree working environments.
Communication- Ability to read, comprehend and practice necessary safety procedures, signs, etc
