Job Description:

Are you interested in being part of the Y? Do you have experience or an interest in mentoring youth by providing a safe and engaging space to learn and develop? This may be the opportunity for you!

In this role, you will help give teens and youth participants a place to belong and a chance to have a good time while making healthy decisions. As part of our program team, you will contribute by supervising and lead youth activities such as Friday Night Fun events and Weekend at the Y. With a growing Teen and Esports department, now is a particularly exciting time to join our diverse team and support your local community. On a regular day you will model by example, provide redirection and positive engagement opportunities to participants, support the set up and break down of activities, and engage members and participants in program opportunities.

To thrive in this role you have experience in recognizing and managing challenging teen and youth behaviors with the goal of helping teens to realize their true worth and value as contributing members of our communities. You have prior experience in customer service or working directly with youth in an instructional setting. You have a sound sense of judgement and the ability to respond appropriately to the unexpected.

Qualifications

• 21 years of age or older
• Experience directly working with youth and teens and a proven track record of successful engagement and positive behavior management
  
  
• Afternoon and weekend availability up to 10-25 hours per week, Fridays 6:30-8:45 pm and Saturdays/Sundays 9:00-2:00 (hours may vary)
