The Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) Mental Health Therapist (MHT) acts as the lead clinician for a fast paced clinical treatment team which serves the needs of up to 20 children and adolescents who are significantly impacted by acute psychiatric conditions. The MHT is responsible for developing treatment plans, providing clinical assessment and diagnosis; individual and family therapy and crisis diversion and de-escalation. As the lead clinician, the MHT plans treatment for PHP clients from admission to discharge. This position works Monday-Friday daylight hours (7:30-3:30).
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum of a Masters degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology or other clinical mental health field. Professional license (LSW, LCSW, LPC, or LMFT) preferred.
At least 3 years experience in working with children and adolescents, families, family structure or family therapy either in a partial hospital, residential, group or individual setting preferred.
Able to learn and adapt to individual family’s culture and be flexible to meet their needs.
Ability to lead, motivate and coach others in a fast-paced, family-focused environment.
Must complete and pass agency Crisis/Physical Intervention training.
Experience working with an Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and use of e-mail.
Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
Eligible for Pennsylvania State Police clearance, Pennsylvania Child Abuse History clearance, and FBI clearance.
Physical Requirements:
Must have audio/visual/verbal activity to provide supervision for the clients and to perform essential job functions.
Must have physical dexterity in order to assist in client physical interventions when necessary.

CORE COMPETENCIES:
In conjunction with the Director of Partial Hospitalization, coach and lead the Mental Health Worker staff to implement interventions that are consistent with individual and family identified strengths/needs, Sanctuary principles and practices, regulatory requirements, accreditation standards and agency policies.
Implement measurable approaches to build partnerships with individuals/families and document results of these approaches via progress notes and clinical reports.
Collaborate with other leadership team members to ensure that interventions in the PHP are consistent with the individual’s and family’s identified strengths and needs.
Attend clinical meetings and monitor progress in the three identified goals of individualization, generalization and family partnerships for each individual served.
Lead treatment team meetings to provide insight and collaboration on the three identified goals of individualization, generalization and family partnerships for each individual served.
Provide individual, group and family therapy to assigned caseload at the frequency indicated in the treatment plan and document all sessions.
Assist families in identifying needs and provide skills to empower them to get those needs met.
Work with Director of Partial Hospitalization, program psychiatrist, and Lead Mental Health Worker to develop appropriate goals.
Promote social responsibility.
Closely monitors and completes incident reports.
Document accurately in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) as required.
Communicate to the Director of Partial Hospitalization and clinical team any areas of safety, and clinical interventions to assure health and safety codes are met at all times.
Make recommendations to the Director of Partial Hospitalization related to admissions, discharges and unmet needs of the individuals or families.
Provide training to the environment related to clinical approaches and job skill sets.
