Do you want to be a key team player with the fastest growing currency supplier in the world? Crane Currency is looking to add an Application Developer II for our Dalton, MA location. The incumbent will be responsible for providing application development and making enhancements to Manufacturing Executions Systems (MES) while providing end user support to the Dalton site and assist with end user support to all locations. 

Application Developer responsibilities include:

• Develop standard tools to provide solutions within our Manufacturing Execution Systems that address business needs.  Follow coding standards and guidelines set by the Application team leader.  Use appropriate change management procedures set by the business. 


• Work with other Application team members and local end users to deliver quality solutions in accordance with action plans set by project leaders.


• Provide end user support for multiple Currency manufacturing locations.  Provide remote support for additional Currency locations as needed.  Track and resolve IT service desk level tickets to ensure the MES is operational 24x7.  


• Maintain software application repository.


• Provide third party application support and collaborate with vendors as needed.


• Mentor the junior application team members and provide them assistance when needed

Qualifications:

Required: 

• Understanding relational database design and common database languages.


• Understanding of software development life cycles.


• Strong fact finding, and problem-solving skills.


• Competency in Visual Studio Development tools (C# & Visual Basic)


• Competency in Microsoft SQLServer Management Studio


• Demonstrated strength in being able to maintain effective work relationships to influence others without formal authority.


• Proven high level of initiative with talent for anticipating and acting on next steps.


• Proven ability to interact effectively and tactfully at all organizational levels and across all disciplines.


• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Science or Business or equivalent


• Applicants must be United States citizens and will need to demonstrate Suitability for employment in a Position of Public Trust consistent with our US Government contract requirements.

Desired:  Working knowledge of Proficy Plant Applications.
