Provide on-site system administration end-user support at the at the client’s ( Veteran Administration) Information Technology Center for the virtualized server and client end-user devices in a distributed environment. End users are located throughout the world and connect using WAN and CAG Business-to-Business connections.
POSITION DESCRIPTION (Duties and Responsibilities):
Provide end-user support by troubleshooting problems related to client developed applications used in the client and virtualized environments, which includes all production, test and development environments for on-site and remote users.
Provide end-user support for end users and IT staff based at widespread locations, working in a Citrix XenApp and XenDesktop environment.
Using Service Now (web based) ticketing system, respond to tickets to troubleshoot, resolve and document hardware installation and/or configuration problems/ errors.
Primary and Secondary triage of Citrix application or desktop customer issues
Provide guidance or assist with successfully connecting to the Citrix environment
Clear hung sessions
Install VDA to give access for Remote PC within the Citrix environment.
Provide remote support on password reset, AD account management, Login scripts, profile issues, drive mapping and user logon problems.
Update patches on remote servers and business applications via established remote desktop connection.
Escalate or transfer tickets appropriately to VA staff that can resolve the issue further.
Coordinate with stakeholders of ticket status or request system changes.
Document issue resolution steps for end users, Tier 1 Help Desk, and Tier 2 desktop support staff.
Maintain end user guides.
Use problem solving and analytical skills to trouble shoot challenging computer and network issues.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
Candidate must be able to demonstrate expertise in the following areas:
Knowledge of Microsoft Office
Ability to work in team-oriented environment.
Experience with web-based ticketing systems.
Ability to analyze and solve problems.
Ability to interact with staff, members and clients.
Ability to perform highly detailed work on multiple, concurrent tasks.
Ability to use Active Directory and Group Policy
Strong customer service skills.
Hands on experience with Citrix Director and Citrix Studio
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS DESIRED:
Knowledge of Citrix XenApp and XenDesktop to include publishing applications, configuring user access, troubleshooting, printing, and maintaining a healthy Citrix environment
Experience with Citrix User Profile Manager
Experience with VMWare virtualization
Experience with latest cloud-based technologies such as AWS, DAS and Azure
Education/Experience (Minimum Requirements):
Bachelor’s
Computer science, or other engineering or technical discipline; or 8 years of work experience.
Work Location:
Hines, Illinois – Currently working remotely due to Covid-19; but needs to be in the Hines area for when on-site work resumes.
Clearance: ust obtain Public Trust clearance before starting on the contract.
