Position Summary


HORNE, one of the largest accounting and consulting firms in the Southeast, is seeking a Director of Business Process Solutions who is responsible utilizing process improvement and project management methodologies to bring out operational excellence to HORNE’s internal and external projects, including planning, organizing, directing and/or conducting detailed management analysis studies to define problems, identify deficiencies and develop solutions which enhance organizational effectiveness and provide the basis for management decisions.  Maintaining ongoing relationships with individual operational managers and the information technology department to ensure two way communication of business and project related information.


Key Responsibilities


The Business Process Solutions Director’s job duties include, but are not limited to:



  • Collaborates with operational management to plan, organize and / or participate in projects and detailed management analytical studies.

  • Works closely with Information Technology to coordinate plans and activities, including coordination of application projects involving Government Service projects and / or enterprise wide systems.

  • Assists operational management in the developing project plans, documenting activities within a project and coordinating activities within a project.

  • Works with others on resolving issues within projects, monitoring project activities versus established deadlines, and determining corrective actions.

  • Communicates status of project progress, issues, resolutions and other business concerns to Horne managers.

  • Promotes close relationships with both the operational community and Information Technology to develop standard components of integrated information systems.

  • Assists operational management in prioritizing functional projects, enhancement projects for existing applications, and system maintenance requests.

  • Establishes and maintains a working relationship with all business functional areas.

  • Recognizes and identifies potential areas where existing policies and procedures require change, and recommends improvements.

  • Supports training of staff members, supervises, offers guidance and direction.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to interact across all levels of an organization.

  • Capable of drawing knowledge from others, understanding / formulating multifaceted business processes and communicating complex ideas to others.

  • Capacity to understand overall business problems / issues, decomposing them into workable parts, identifying potential solutions, recognizing risks and making recommendations.

  • Proficiency in use of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), with experience in use of Microsoft Project and Microsoft Visio a plus.

  • Formal training or practical experience implementing, leading and supporting management systems (such as LEAN, Six Sigma, ISO 9000).

  • Proven ability to organize and prioritize some conflicting views and priorities.

  • Ability to work with minimal direction.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications



  • Ten or more years’ experience as a Business Analyst or Project Manager, demonstrating a progression in complexity, scope, and number of projects managed

  • Proficiency in use of business analysis and project management tools required

  • Passion for solving customer challenges with a positive attitude

  • Ability to exercise servant leadership principles to lead teams of business analysts, project managers, internal and external focused groups to achieve optimal results that align with our core business principles

Preferred and Additional Considerations



  • Bachelor’s degree in technology, project management, accounting, and/or business discipline preferred

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is preferred

  • Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP) or equivalent certification is a plus

  • Experience with M-Files, Hyland OnBase or another ECM solution is a plus

  • Proficiency in Microsoft SQL, Power BI, and SSRS is a plus
