Job Description:

The Retirement Plan Coordinator will serve as a resource to plan consultant(s), plan sponsors and financial advisors for matters related to ERISA compliance, plan administration and governmental reportingEssential Duties and Responsibilities:Responsible for protecting, securing, and proper handling of all confidential data held by Ascensus to ensure against unauthorized access, improper transmission, and/or unapproved disclosure of information that could result in harm to Ascensus or our clients.

Provide timely, superior customer service, including problem solving with minimal inconvenience to clients
Provide effective verbal and written communications in a clear, concise and informative manner Collaborate with assigned plan consultant(s) to meet defined business objectives, firm goals and client obligations
Assist clients in meeting all IRS and Department of Labor deadlines applicable to qualified retirement plans
Maintain knowledge of present legislation and proposed legislative changes with regard to ERISA law through self study and company-sponsored training sessions
Work with assigned consultant(s) to provide compliant and accurate valuation reports, participant statements, trust accounting, annual testing and reporting as applicable
Complete preliminary testing, as applicable, including ADP/ACP, Top Heavy, 410(b), 415, 401(a)(4),deductibility, and 402(g)
Prepare and assemble year end census package
Process distribution paperwork for review and coordinate processing of distributions with asset holder
Prepare loan paperwork for review and coordinates processing of loans with asset holder
Assist with preparation of plan documents (new plans, amendments, terminations) and associated IRS filing 5310 and 5307
Prepare periodic notices, including safe harbor, quarterly benefit, plan expense and blackout period as required.
Prepare DOL Form 5500 and related schedules for review and coordinate filing with plan sponsor
Complete filing tasks and other organizational assignments as assigned
Utilize office equipment including personal computer, scanner, fax and calculator
Serve as backup for other associates during scheduled and unscheduled absences
Other assignments as dictated by business needs, directed by your assigned Consultant(s)
and/or team manager

Minimum Requirements:Secondary school diploma required; college level courses desirable
ERISA experience in the retirement industry preferable
Experience in financial institution or business environment desirable
Experience in Relius software desirable, but not required
Strong Word, Excel and Outlook skills
Strong written and oral communication skills
Strong analytical and problem solving skills
Strong attention to detail and the ability to work with assigned consultant (s) in order to prioritize assignments, manage tasks and meet deadlines in connection with business operations, including related ERISA compliance matters
Ability to organize and manage multiple simultaneous tasks and prioritize competing priorities
