Job Description

We have an immediate opportunity for a EngineeringTechnician to join us at our diverse team in Longmont, CO.Danfoss Editron seeking an Engineering Technician. This position assists the electronics engineering group to build and test production and development units.

HIRING SALARY RANGE:$30.00 - $34.50per hour. Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.

Job Responsibilities

Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, the following.

• Collaborate with engineering (mechanical, electronic & software) to conduct evaluation tests/ experiments requiring selection and adaptation or modification of test equipment and test procedures. Maintain test equipment, instrumentation, and related facilities.


• Work on segments of development projects, constructing experimental or prototype models to meet technical requirements. Assists in conducting evaluation tests and experiments designed to provide a desired result under controlled conditions. May review procedures, designs or specifications for adequacy and follows up to assure expected results are being achieved.


• Analyze, test and design data, develop or prepare schematics, designs, specifications, component lists, or make recommendations regarding these items. Assists in the design of new systems, processes, products, or equipment. Recommend changes for ineffective procedures, designs, or specifications.


• Assists in gathering data from multiple sources to be used in evaluating problems, determining trends, and diagnosing testing needs. Maintain test records and documentation and reporting test results to engineering and production staff.


• Gathers, and maintains specified records of technical data such as tests and drawings, performs computations, plots data, or draws curves, graphs, and charts.


• Build/testing/debug/rework Printed Circuit Boards (SMT and Through-Hole), design/build cables and/or harnesses. Ability to read electronic schematics and able to build test circuits from schematics.

Background & Skills

The ideal candidate possesses these skills.

• Two (2) years of technical school, two (2) years of college toward a Bachelor of Science degree, or related technical training (e.g., military/trade school).


• Two (2) years of related experience in the electronics field with working knowledge of electronics in a production environment. Electro-mechanical skills strongly desired.


• Strong knowledge/experience with instrumentation and related testing equipment. (oscilloscopes, meters, scopes and other test equipment).


• Strong communication skills (verbal & written)


• Ability to work with high power/high voltage equipment safely


• Knowledge of computer communication (CAN/J1939 & Serial/RS232), including cabling and noise filtering is a plus.


• Production Automation and Programming


• Knowledge of computer software (Excel & Word) and data acquisition systems


• Ability to lift and handle 35 lb. equipment safely.
